Hello, I'm Kimberly. And I'm Laura. And today's topic is trusting divine timing. Yeah, I literally questioned the title like we should say, the annoyance of divine timing or the trouble with divine timing because that is, okay, we're on this kick of things that annoy Laura this week. So divine timing annoys Laura. I know, well, that's the tourist cancer in you, right? For me, it's like... Oh, you can't blame just the tourist cancer. No, you can't. We'll just blame Laura. Yeah, just, you know, Laura's got a lot of... Laura, you can have it. She's got a lot of things that bugger. Yeah. Oh, well, you're a very sensitive lady. I'm a very sensitive lady in a different way.
That is a very nice way to put that. Thank you. Oh, okay. If that works, then great. I'm just, I'm winning all the time. I'm just sensitive. That's all it is. I think we're all sensitive. I think we're just different kinds of sensitive. And I think like, you know, I'm 58 years old and when I was a kid, I was very reactive, I would say, to my sensitivities. Whereas now I'm just like owning it. I am a love bug. I love life. I love work. I love creating. And I'm okay with it. Isn't that what we're doing? We're surrendering to who we are, even if who we are drives other people crazy. Yeah, I know. And I get it too, because like, when you have a big energy and you're passionate and you have a lot of interest and stuff, you know, I can read people so I can feel them.
And I never wanna make somebody feel insecure or anything around me. It's just I'm somebody that lives life big. And I'm not gonna change for anybody. I'm not, I'm no longer, I'm no longer going to dim my light for anybody. And I've been doing that for a long time. Not dimming my light, I mean, but I just, I'm really in love with my life. And as I've been more and more in love with my life, I've, so many things drop away. So, you know, this divine timing topic is, is really like a good time to talk about it. It is a good time. You know, there's so many things happening in the world all the time. There is divine timing in this divine, divine timing podcast.
As we sit here and drink our coffee. Yeah. If you hear me, I'm sorry, because our mics pick up on everything. We need coffee today. So that's coffee. We have our coffee. Okay. I love my wife because it's like, normally we have one coffee and lately we've been, like we got a lot going on. We got a retreat coming up. We're always back and forth in New Brunswick. There's, you know, we're making products. She's making jewelry. We do these things just because we love them. And you know, if you're in Nova Scotia, I have like two live events in October. Might as well plug that now. Yeah. October 17th at the Halifax Tower Hotel as part of the Halifax Paranormal Symposium, 2026. I am presenting an evening with spirit. So I'll be doing live readings. And if you're interested, there is links all over my Facebook page, Laura Warren, Psychic Medium.
So you just go and you can buy a ticket and see me live. I don't do a lot of live in-person stuff. That May change someday. That is changing. That May change, but if you do want to see my face in the flesh, that might be a place to come and hear some wonderful messages from spirit. And then I am also a part of Esther Fest, which is always a good time. Oh my God. Good people, man, they're good people. Esther Fest happens in the town of Amherst in Nova Scotia. And it's kind of around a story of a poltergeist, a lady, Esther Cox, who was taken over apparently by a spirit. And yeah, many supernatural paranormal events happened around her.
And there's been plays written about her and stories and all these things. And this obviously like a long time ago, this is a historical event. So every year in Amherst, they have a week of all these fun things. They have ghost walks and they have a, I don't know, a witch, something like witch walk, witch dance, I can't remember. And then they all sound fun. They do, yeah, they do like ghost hunts and they do psychic fairs. Anyway, part of that event is my event and I'll be doing live readings as well. So if you're in the Amherst area, you can buy tickets to that as well. And you can look at the Esther Cox website where you can go to my Facebook page where I will post the links today because it was just confirmed.
We always have fun at both of them, but the Esther one always, the... The people are great. Yeah, they're very interactive. I always have so much fun. Amherst is such a cool town and people are awesome. So yeah, look that one up. And then we have, we are doing our wellness retreat, which is now sold out. But if you're interested in attending one of our retreats, just let us know. We have one coming up in the spring and I don't know what else, but there's probably a list. Well, we'll be doing them spring and fall, so. Yeah, yeah, so. Get on the list. Yeah, get in touch, get in touch. So on to divine timing, as we talk about all the things that are happening. We're not sure, like we're gonna explain this because I think some people don't really understand what divine timing is.
We talk about it and people mention it, but do you really, have you really thought about what it is or what it means for you? And to me, divine timing is that everything kind of unfolds in the right time, like everything unfolds in the right moment, according to your readiness for that event. So the universe will not give you things that you are not prepared for or not ready for. So your job. Or that's not good for you. Right, so your job as a spiritual connected being is to make sure that you are really clear. Like you know what you want and you're preparing yourself for that so that the universe can bring you the opportunities to express that experience.
And divine timing, I gotta tell you, has really kicked me in the ass a lot of times because I think I'm doing something right and I think I'm on the right track and then it flops and then I go, what the hell? What, did I miss something? Was I not listening? And even if your approach wasn't what the universe wanted it to be, because I think sometimes like with myself, I have all this gusto, like I want to do it and raw, you know, take it on. But then the universe is like, wait, just be patient. Because if I swear to God, I've heard from spirit, be patient so many times that now I'm at a place where I'm just like, I completely surrender. Because I know now that the easiest way is just to trust that it's coming when it's time.
Because you really can throw yourself off and cause yourself a lot of stress. And you know, Laura and I are 11 years of pirate, I'm 11 years older. So there's times when I have to really grab a hold of myself and say, wait, she's 11 years younger, you gotta give her time to go through these things herself because it's not fair. Sometimes I'm looking at her going, but wait a second. Like, let's go, let's do this thing, right? And she's, yeah, and she's waiting. So I'm sort of like, okay, you know, sometimes I'm a little aggressive too. Just a bit. Even I remember when I was, you know, when I was actually trying, like I was going forward and wanting to be a medium and wanting to do readings and really wanting to do a really good job because that's my personality.
And I remember way back then, like, kind of throwing my hands up in the air saying, what the hell, why isn't this working? Like, why isn't this working the way I want it to? And I think that's the idea is the human ideas. We kind of have to try to put those aside because the human idea tells you, it tells you that you are, I'm losing my train of thought already. Oh, that's not good. It tells you that the human idea is like, you know, you have to kind of put that aside. You have to take your, all your human goals and ideals and kind of say, okay, that is what I want. But then there's a surrender where you let go and you say, okay, I'm not going to forget about what I want, but I'm going to let the universe unfold this journey for me and this experience.
The way it sees fit for you. Because sometimes the way we think it should happen isn't the right way for it to happen. Right, right. So this is how I'm kind of like, I've come into this more calm place in the past few years, but it's taken me a little bit because in the beginning I remember being so annoyed with the universe. Cause I'm like, why did you put me in this position to do readings and to like call spirit forward? If I can't do it the way I want to do it. And then I realized that I wasn't actually working with the universe. I was trying to do, I was still trying to do the old human thing of I have to do everything myself because that's the only way it's going to be done right. Or do it like other mediums have done it because one thing I've observed with you is about years ago, you'd say, I want names, I want names.
But the funny thing about you is I watched you last year at Esther Fest and you read 26 people like just bing, bing, bing and all you would do is look at them and say, who do you want to talk to? Give me their name. So you were using names, but just differently than you know, you're calling people forward and I watch you do it all the time. And I think, hello, knock, knock, knock. Do you not see what you're doing here? Because to me it's like, who cares? You know, it's like tomato, tomato. And some people like, there's different ways to look at this because what I've had to let go of is I had to let go of the way other mediums would view me. Right. And so in your field, like anything that you're doing and you love to do and you're trying to do a good job, you May have to let go of the comparison too.
You May have to let go of the way other people view you in your field. Because I absolutely had to. Right, you had to too. Because everybody is gonna approach their skills and their abilities differently. So you actually cannot stick to like a standard or like a standard set of rules for what you're doing, especially if what you're doing is in a spiritual field. Well, even you look at coaching, I went and did a professional life coaching course and then I was going to be certified with the ICF and everything I did, it got rejected. And I knew, because Spirit said, you cannot do anything if it's not in alignment with how you feel and the way you think things should be done.
And the way we're taught to coach isn't the way that we would coach. What Laura and I do are more mentoring people, right? So there's a coaching like, you know, part to it, but really it's we're mentoring people, you know. And how you do that, one thing about me, pardon me, one thing about me is I've been an entrepreneur all my life and I have to go to the beat of my own drum or it will not work. And I know that 100%. I know that about myself. If I can't lie to save my soul, I can't do something I'm against. It's just not my way of being. You know, and I joke with people, you know, people have been telling me for years that I should be doing my own YouTube on all the things I've done and all the things I do and how I do them.
And Laura and I have been joking because I say, you know, I call myself the backyard guru because I really do love the spirituality. I love the earth, you know, and for me, it's, it's divine timing has been so important for me because I've really had to, I've always been somebody who trusted like over the top I've trusted to the point where, you know, I, when I get mad at the universe, believe me, I don't hold anything back and I tell my clients, you want to be mad, be mad. You want to cry, scream, holler, do it, let it out. Because then you're taking that energy out of the body out into the ether, out into the air. So you're, you're taking it and you're saying, hey, I'm not happy right now. I don't like how this is going and I'm, I'm prepared for whatever is the next stage.
Then you have to listen. And you got to listen real good. Yeah. Like this is the part where your intuition kind of comes in and intuition is not your human voice. It's not your, it's not your ego. It's not your limiting beliefs. It's not the story you told yourself. It's intuition is that first- Higher self. It's your higher self. And when you tune into your intuition, your whole entire being feels different. It's not just your, your mind, it's your body too. Everything kind of comes into alignment. And it sort of feels like you go right into your core. Well, it's relaxed too. You relax and calm. And it's peaceful and it's calm. And the messages that come through your intuition, they can be very fast. So sometimes there's a little bit of training, like to kind of listen to that initial voice. Well, don't jump with a second you start hearing something, right?
Like, yeah, like try to listen. And I would say anything that's happening, anything, any messages that come in in the first 30 seconds or so is your intuition. Because your mind hasn't even had time to catch up yet to give you a thought about that issue or problem. So it's, it's your higher self speaking to you. Which is divine. This is consciousness we're talking about. This is the wisdom of everything, you know? So this is why it's so important to pay attention to your intuition and to calm that inner self so that it can listen to the higher self, which is all that is. Right. And so here we are like, we're here talking about divine timing and we could, we could really, we could probably write a book on divine timing.
There's been so many times throughout, as soon as I turn to the spiritual path, I'll say as soon as I accepted it and I said, okay, I'm going to give this, I'm going to give this a try. Being in this energy makes me feel good. As soon as I did that, then I was constantly battling all the human thoughts. Like you're not doing this good enough. You're not doing this fast enough. You don't have enough people following you. You're not busy enough. You know, it was all those things. And then I had to just stop. And every time a thought like that came in, I had to kind of reprogram myself. And I had to say everything happens in the right time. Everything happens for my highest good. The universe is working for me. Because you, the human part of us has this idea that we're in this by ourselves.
And we're not. The human part of us says that you have to do everything by yourself. And that is not what's happening. You are co-creating with the people around you and with the universe. And so co-creating means that sometimes you're gonna be waiting because you're not ready. Sometimes you're gonna be waiting because somebody in your life's not ready. Sometimes you're gonna be waiting because it's just not the time yet. And you have to trust that there is a plan, that there is some cosmic plan, some soul blueprint for you that is unfolding at the rate that it's supposed to and it's unfolding exactly the way it should. Yeah. And I think the thing for me is when you get the clarification from spirit, it's like, it just, it hits you on the head but in the nicest way.
It's like, wow, truth. You know? And for me, I think the thing I love about where I'm at and that's why I always said, like people joke all the time, say, oh, to be 20 again, I go no frigging way. I'm 58 years old and I love every minute of being 58. And I'm not going back for nothing because it takes all of what you've lived through to get to this place where you're good within yourself. And I feel very solid. I feel very solid, very calm, very ready for the next stage of life. And it's ironic that I'm in a nine year this year because I've been putting a lot of things to rest, I'll say. And one thing I noticed is we give everything way too much energy.
And if we just learned, instead of being on our tiptoes ready to run, if we could just sit back and observe and take things in a little bit more, things would go so much easier, right? Because you take all that stressed energy out. You know, I'm somebody who, I say I hate and then I go, no, you don't hate, you gotta own that. I've always been somebody that succeeded at whatever I put my mind, like whatever I put my intention on. I just am that person, but it's because it doesn't come, it does come to me more natural than some I would say, but I believe in myself. I believe that I can do anything I put my mind to. And I've been like that all my life. And that's my goal to teach other people.
How do I teach my clients? How to believe in themselves the way I do. So that's the goal, right? But I just find this whole divine timing is, it's just like the perfection of it is just allow the space for it to happen. And doesn't it feel better? Like this is the piece that I didn't really understand in the beginning is that it actually feels better if you can get yourself to the place where you trust. And that you're not fearful about the next thing or you're not fearful, what if this doesn't work or what if I can't do this? You know, those things don't enter in. And the other thing I've noticed this readiness piece is really important because I know you have people that come to you too and say, I don't know what's going on.
Like I just can't create abundance. I can't manifest abundance in my life. But a lot of times, because I've noticed it with myself, a lot of times I am not ready to accept the abundance that I'm actually asking for. So here, an example, you know, is like- The big slide, tells it all. Yeah, I know because an example is setting up, say setting up a class, like I'm teaching classes. And I had to get to the place where I trusted whoever was there was exactly the people that needed to be there and the universe made that happen that way for a reason. And it didn't matter the number.
So obviously I'm not gonna just teach one person. Like I need a few people in the class. But sometimes my classes are full. Sometimes they're not. But it's like the perception because aren't they still full? Like even if I have six people, those six people still fill up the space and how do I know that those six people don't need more of my attention rather than 12 or 24. So I had to get to the place where whatever comes, like if I put something out there, like if I put a class out there, whatever comes is okay. But then the other side of it too is am I ready and willing to accept 50 people? And I can say confidently in a class the way I teach it, I am not.
So that's sort of something to think about too. That are you actually, you're saying you wanna create abundance, but can you actually say that there is space in your life for that abundance? Yeah, no, I agree. I think about all the things that I've been angry about, you know, living in another province and stuff. And then you get to this place where you go, man, I'm really grateful for the time that I have to develop myself. You know, I've created this beautiful home and I've made a beautiful inside and outside, you know, we have, but I just took it on as a full-time job. You know, Laura's been working building her business and I've been working, but I've been a contractor carpenter, painter, you know.
Well also, gardener cook, making natural products, raking master, you know, naturopathic therapist. Let's just keep adding to the list. Right, but the funny thing is when you're an overachiever, you don't really realize all the things you're doing until people start saying it to you. And I think the universe really has wanted me to see this year all of the things that are beautiful about me. And I'm really the happiest I've ever been. And I've always been happy, but I just really love my life and I'm okay now, but this divine timing thing comes into, you know, into the conversation right now because I've been actually very angry in the years gone by about, you know, I had to leave my home province and la, la, la, I've said this many times.
But now it's like I go, yeah, but wait a second, we've got a sweat equity home that we've created an incredible amount of equity and we have a property that you just have to, it doesn't matter where you go, front, out the front door, back door, off the back deck, this place, Laura and I walk around the house all the time and you see the beauty and the birds and you know, there's a pheasant family every year here and now there's two and you know, we've got a hawk that's been guarding our property and we've got crows and ravens and every bird you can think about. So the beautiful thing about the symbolic meaning of this is that divine timing really can throw you off. The year we bought this house, Laura was not, not good.
It was testing her and pushing her right to the extremes. Because I am not a person that's good without feeling safe. Right and a home, a base. Right, so and I felt very responsible, you know, even though it's me and Kim and this together, I felt very responsible because it was my apartment, my like the actual house that we were renting was being sold and so it felt like my responsibility and plus I'm, I'm from here and Kim is coming from away. So and I'm the kids. So I took on all the responsibility and I shouldn't have, but I did. I took on all the responsibility of finding us a house and then when it wasn't working, I was extremely stressed out. Like I, I really did, it really did bother me and we can say, we can say all we want that we trust, you know, divine timing and that we are Zen and calm in our journey.
But if something really challenging hits you, it doesn't matter how spiritual you are or how connected you are, you can still get rocked by an experience. And so that was my lesson was like, all the meditation in the world is not going to fix this problem. You know, like I- Well, and you're physically being challenged by every time I would leave to go to New Brunswick, the landlord would give you a hard time. Never would they dare do that with me. I was starting to wonder if he was waiting until you left. Like if he was like somehow watching us going, hmm, oh good, the strong tall lady is gone. I'm going to go pick on the other lady. Yeah, like I- What he did, he had Laura so stressed out. He had some kind of radar, but it was my lesson because you don't need to learn how to stand up for yourself, I did.
So that was my lesson and that was the universe just throwing another wrench into the plan. But I had to literally talk myself down. I got tired after months and months of host hunting and we prepared too, like we had, we did everything that, you know, they say you should do, like we planned, we had mortgage approval, we were looking, we were, you know, looking- We had a down payment, a good down payment. We had a down payment, we talked to realtors. No, by the way, nobody wanted to take us on because our budget was so small. So- And I kept saying, we're going to get it, we're going to get it, I'm telling you. So it's going to happen. I was literally working as a realtor, like as well for us trying to find something and searching the internet every day.
Every day it was worrying your wife. Every, every single day, every day. I was like, my phone was attached to my hand. And then when we decided we were going to Sedona, I remember being on the plane and it all hit me at once that I have waited to go to Sedona, Arizona for 13 years and here we are on the plane and it's actually happening and I'm not letting anything ruin this trip. So I gave it up. I just said to the universe, I said, you know what? It's in your hands now. I did everything I could possibly do and it's not working. So it's up to you and I'll pay attention. I'll pay attention to the signs, whatever comes. And then you guys probably know the story if you listened to the podcast, but we got back, my massage therapist just casually mentions, oh, there's a host in the area that you and Kim are looking and I think it's going to go for sale and I think it's private sale.
And when I was at the host, I could only think of you and Kim. So you should check it out. And then like a dog with a bone, we just, in the way I was thinking was, there is no way we are not getting this house. We are getting, it's our house. And we just put that in our heads right off the bat. I wrote a note and I put it on the door and said, please give us an opportunity to at least look at the house and bid. I said, we do not have a home. There was no sign, there was no sign on the house. There was no contact information, nothing. I went to the neighbors and everything. We came here six times and then we wrote the note. So we just didn't give up. And here's the beauty of divine timing. That was almost exactly four years ago. And what I can tell you to all my listeners out there, listen, listen, listen.
Four years ago it looked hopeless at this point. Hopeless, we were struggling in ways you can't even imagine. We were stressed out. We were getting evicted and at that time, oh boy, everything is so crazy, expensive. Some of the places we looked at, we just looked at each other and thought, oh my God. And so do you ever, do you ever learn how close all of us are to crisis? Right. Like because you think you're okay and you think you're prepared and something can come and just rock your world. And I think we as people that are in tune and use our intuition, I think this is a big thing for us to even admit that this happened because a lot of people that are in our place, they won't even talk. They won't even say that they struggled over everything.
Everything's all peace and light and love all the time. And I'm like, listen. It's not real. It has always been my message to people that that's not real life. Everything is not puppies and rainbows. I'm sorry. Rainbows is a butterfly. It's not, you know? And that's, and it's okay. Yeah, and it's okay. It's okay for us to be human and say, listen, that was really hard. That was a really hard experience. And so when like four years ago, we got to Sedona and we went to the Buddhist stupa of Enlightenment. Well, it's not of Enlightenment. I guess it's called something different in Sedona. Yeah. Cause we were to the one in Cape Breton too. Yeah. But we went to the Buddhist temples, the stupa outside and we just stayed there for half the day like meditating and, and wandering the grounds.
And I just kept talking to the universe and just saying, I know you hear me. And I know that I'm, I'm ready. I'm ready to let go of this burden. I'm ready to give it to you. And I'm ready to take whatever comes cause I know that you're going to send me what's in my highest good. And so that's exactly what happened cause we were only back a couple of weeks. And then the, the massage therapist said, Hey, you know, I need to check out this house. And then we were, we did not give up after that. And then you got to look at things like four years ago we went to Las Vegas for a week. We went to Sedona for a week. We went to Scottsdale for a week. We got married and we bought a house. Like, Holy. So here's the beauty of divine timing. If I look back at that, you know, four years ago and I look at all the crazy and that's why we went away.
We had to get away. We were going nuts. And, and we were looking for something more. Like we were looking for something to connect to and, and deepen. But now if I look at where we are now, I feel rich. I feel rich in more ways than I can explain. I feel rich in my relationship. I feel rich within who I am. I feel rich within, you know, being a mom and being a grandmother and, and being a human that loves their life. And I look at what we've created in four little years. We built this beautiful home, this foundation, this solid anchor for us to, you know, I know when I go away from home and I come back because this is my refueling station and I've created it that we've created it this way for that reason, because we live big.
And when you live big, you have to go through big things. It's like shifting, shifting, shifting. Sometimes I shift so much. I'm, I'm like, I'm dizzy. You know, I gotta, I gotta rebalance myself. And, you know, I always know that even when I get, like right now I'm going through some allergies and a little bit of a fighting off a cold. When those things happen to me, I don't just go, oh, you know, I go, yeah, I'm going through a big shift. And this is my body's way of saying, you know, you gotta relax and take it easy. And when I have to take a whole day to just be in bed or be still, that's really hard for somebody like me because I am always creating, you know, and I love the being in the creation that I'm creating. Because it's like this, it helps me deepen my gratitude.
It helps me deepen my connection. It helps me honor more of the life I'm trying to create more and more of, but there's no pressure. There was pressure before, there's no pressure now. Now it's in trusting and allowing the divine timing to take over. Right, so do the things that get you, even if you're waiting for divine timing to unravel and you're feeling impatient and you're annoyed and you're having a hard time with this, prepare yourself for what you want. So what I hear from you is that you're still preparing yourself, but you're waiting for the universe to send you the opportunity at the right time or send you the signs at the right time. Right, and I was angry. I was angry at what was taking, like what's taken so long and then I started thinking.
Aren't we impatient beings? Right, absolutely. And like when we finally know, like sometimes it takes you a long time to really know what you want and really what fits you and you finally figure it out and then all of a sudden the universe puts up a big stop sign and says, wait, like you know what you want but you aren't ready for it. But you know, I love that you just said that because here's the thing, what I want now is not the same as what I wanted four years ago. And what I want now is exactly what I've been doing for the last four years, other than rebuilding the house because believe me, it was a big job. But now the gardening and having time in the summer, I don't want to work a lot in the summer. July and August are, our summers are so short here.
And you know, I want to enjoy the time. I want to enjoy my grandkids being here and hanging out and filling us full of love. And they're just so adorable, right? It's just so fun to be around them. They're so easy. So now what I've realized is the life I want, I want to keep creating a life that gives me the space to continue to do the things I love. Yeah, and so there's like, there's a whole bunch of things that need to line up for us to understand divine timing, for us to trust it, you know, for us to even like allow it to be. And so if you're feeling like annoyed, like you've decided something, you're moving forward with it. It's not exactly happening the way you want. And if you're feeling annoyed, then there is your sign, your kind of message from the universe to stop and really reflect on that.
Like why are you feeling annoyed? You know, is it because you're waiting for the universe to do it for you? Mm-hmm, that's the key right there. Because that's it. I really feel like there's something like, like I like to call it like active alignment. So it's like you're aligning yourself with what you want, but you're not expecting it to happen right away in a universe sense. You're actively putting yourself in the position where you're ready. And this is something I've learned many times over and over again, especially with the docu series, because I was, was I actually mentally and emotionally ready to do that? I don't know if I was, you know, and the opportunity came and I remember being in it and thinking, this is amazing.
I'm so grateful. I'm so grateful to do this. I feel like this is, this is something that is important on my path. I felt aligned with the work, but there was something inside of me that wasn't really ready for what that life would bring me. And so the docu series, it only ran one season, but the everybody, you know, all the reviews are good. Everybody loved it. It meant to, it was meant to continue. And then why, so why didn't it continue? I really feel like it was, I wasn't meant to. And my co-star, poor Mark, Mark Dolly, obviously he wasn't ready. He, he couldn't continue. He was actually very ill and we didn't know. Well, that was his last hurrah. And that was his legacy, right? So Mark passed away before we could film another season.
And we did, there was talks. We were kind of in talks to do it, but neither me nor Mark were meant to continue that, which is really interesting because all these years I've had many people approach me and talk to me about it as if, you know, let's, you know, let's try to do another season. Let's like, and it never works out. Well, and look at what you've done in the meantime. So since the show, you've created the magic of mediumship. So it's a three level course where you teach people how to use their intuition. And, you know, this is what I love about divine timing. If you had of kept going, you know, it would have been great for your career with TV, but would have built the stuff in your soul that you really, really want to do. Cause I watch you every day. I watch you go into your office and do your classes.
And I mean, you just did one last night with your students and you came out and you got a great message from somebody this morning that said they loved it and they felt so aligned and all that stuff. And the reason why we do what we do is because we love people and we want to see people succeed in their life. So it's no different than me coaching. I really struggled and I gotta be honest. I have not, I've struggled lots in my life. I'm not trying to say I didn't, but I'm the type of person when I put my mind to something I succeed because I won't stop until I succeed. And coaching has not been a success for me the way I was expecting it to. But what I'm realizing even in the moment is that my niche is helping people stop that inner dialogue and create a new dialogue that connects them more to the life they're looking for, the life they wanna live.
So if it takes me all this time and I'm always doing things, I'm always busy but how my life is shifting forward and moving from here and believe me, I'm in nine years so I'm working really hard and making sure that cupboard's cleaned right the hell out and leaving space for everything that the universe wants to provide for me. Because I believe that. I believe when you're in alignment and you're solid and you're grounded and it's not about like your life isn't full of anxiety and all the stress of everything because I'm not a very stressed person. I've had a very stressful life but I've learned that I'm not stress. I'm love. I'm abundance. I'm gratitude. I'm everything that is the beauty of who we are and our existence here on this earth is like, that's my thing.
I love, love, love life. It's so important that you do view stress as external. Yeah, it's not in you. You're bringing it into your awareness but it's- We need like humans think about, I think about this sometimes and I go, so if you think about people through the generations like through the ages, we'll say, pretty historic man. Oh my God, can you imagine how stressful that would have been? Because you have to find all your food, you know- Shelter. You have to find shelter, you have to move around, you have to store, if you were in a place where there was a cold winter, you have to store enough food to last you, the whole wind, like, oh my God, stress. Like, and we do need a certain amount of stress because if you study physiologically the body, like the body needs a little bit of stress to keep the lungs expanded, to keep the heart muscle strong, you know?
And to keep all that blood pumping and all those hormones moving. But the problem is we stress about things that we shouldn't and then we stress about the stress and then the stress causes more stress and then you're stressed and stressed and then you're not sleeping and then you're not eating and then you're- So it's like, it's like not just stress anymore, it's like complicated and compounded. Concrete. It's huge, right? We're exponentially stressing. So let's do this. Let's say a certain amount of stress we need and is healthy, but you can view your stresses as outside of yourself and you can say externally, like that's happening outside of me, I don't have, I have a choice. I don't have to take that into my being. I can view it as an observer.
I can look at it and say, wow, that really sucks. That's stressful. Look at it outside, like it's happening on a TV screen outside of you. Don't take it into your being. Don't take it into your energy field. Don't take it into your body. Let it exist out there and view it and go, hmm, interesting, be curious about it. Curiousness to me is beautiful. Yeah, but we can accept that stress is okay, but it's the stress about the stress about the stress. That's the problem, right? Yeah, and I see this very, I see this all the time, you know? And I, even the way I was brought up and the way Laura, like forget about the 11 years apart because, you know, that always gets me sometimes. But if I just look at my generation and then Laura's generation, my kids, her kids, because they're, you know, I'm in my fifties, Laura's in her forties, my son's in his thirties, my daughter, well, she's 30 now.
So she's in there too. And then our grandchildren, Laura's kids are, you know, 16 and 20 grandkids are like from three to 10. So we've got it all covered. If we put your parents in there, you know, so we've got it all covered, but I see such a difference today with kids and they don't have the struggles. They're, you know, like I come from a survival family. So we are survivors, you know? And it's like, we can figure out the hard shit because we've had to, you know? And then like your generation, I find there's a lot more stress in your family. Like people are very stressed and there's a lot of fear. They're thinking about all the possibilities, all the time and what can go wrong. And yeah, but it's, it's, it is funny because, you know, I just had this conversation with somebody last night and she's about the same age as me.
And there was a post going around Facebook and it's basically said, you know, you look at our age group, like late forties, you know, mid fifties, whatever. And you think that we, we don't do anything. You think we're boring because we want to sit home at night and watch a movie in our pajamas or whatever. We don't go out or, but that's because we already did everything. Right? You know, like, like younger people today are discovering things. They're not as, they're looking at things on the internet and thinking like they know what everything is, but they haven't actually done it. We've done it. Like we did all the crazy stuff when we were kids. Oh man. And we, we went out to parties and we went on trips and we did crazy things.
And we did like stupid camping trips where you didn't bring enough food or didn't bring an ice for the cool or something. And then, you know, like, Or tent poles. Or your, or tent poles. So, you know, like we've already done all that stuff. So it's like, you know, we don't, we don't have the need to do, to continue to do it. Right? But there's a lot of young people that are looking at things and not actually experiencing them. Well, they're home on their computers and they're, they're not, you know, we've seen even with your kids, with their friends in the back seat of the car. They're texting each other instead of talking to each other. To me, this is like crazy. Right? I'm like, wait a second. What's happening? As anything, I look at it and I go, you know what? It's, it might not be like- They're a method of communication. Yeah.
But it is right now, but the pendulum keeps swinging and things always change. So we, we, I always think, oh, I've got to make change my friend because I don't feel like it's going to be like this forever. But, but I do feel like the understanding that divine timing is not just waiting around. You know, you actually have to do stuff. Yeah, action. Because you're co-creating with the universe, but you're also sending a message to the universe. Like every time you are working towards something, you're sending the message that you're getting ready, that you're making space for this opportunity or this path that you're creating for yourself. So I often hear people say, oh, I really want to write a book. Really, really want to write a book. But then they don't actually do it, but then they're like mad at themselves.
They didn't write a book and I'm like, but you didn't actually do it. Like you, you can't just like say, you, you want to have a book with your name on it and not actually write the book with your name on it. You know, like so. It's like little things people say to us all the time. Well, you guys go to the beach all the time. I, God, I love the beach. I'm like, go to the beach. Yeah, get in the car. Get in the car, drive to the beach, get out, enjoy the beach. But I think it's actually that people won't, they won't give themselves the time. They don't think there is time, but there's always time. But there's, it's interesting cause I get a lot of, and I know you get this too, a lot of jealousy, but it doesn't make a lot of sense because if you want the things we want, then go after them. Right, go do it, be an action. If you want the things we have, go get it.
Like it's out there for everybody. So this idea, please don't, don't compare yourself to other people. No. In divine timing, there's none of that because we're all respected as individuals. We have individual paths. You have an individual soul path and soul contract that you are trying to fulfill. So it's not about your next door neighbor doing something, you know, and getting it done and doing well or winning an award or having more money than you or having a nicer car. It's not about that. It's about you doing the things that you came here to do. Right, cause it doesn't, what I want, and what even you as my wife want is different. You know, I love to be outside with the earth and the vegetables. And I always joke and say, Laura's like the crystal lady, you know? You put her in a place to go look at crystals or rocks on the beach or sea glass, look out.
I just like walk on air. Right, I love the beach, but I don't, I don't like kills my neck. She doesn't, but she doesn't get excited about glass. No, no, no. We're little treasures on the beach. And you don't get as excited about flowers and vegetables as I do, you love it. I love plants, but I am, I'm not, no, I'm not the enthusiast that you are. But this is it. We, we should not, you should not look at someone else and compare yourself because you are on a completely different path. So that's one thing. The next thing, like set your intentions, make sure your intentions are really clear, not just for the universe, but for yourself. Don't make it complicated. Right, just, just know that this is what I want. This is what I'm working towards. And then taking consistent action.
So consistently moving forward with something is really important. You obviously- Well, think about it. You can't plan the trip if you don't plan the trip. Yeah. You gotta make the plan a part of. I mean, we're not really talking about manifesting and not necessarily. We're, we're talking about making room for the universe to help us manifest, but, but that was my issue always with the secret was that there was this idea that visualize yourself driving the sports car. Feel your hands on the wheel and, and feel the wind in your hair. But where in the book does it say, go to work and make the money so you can buy the sports car? The sport, nobody's going to give you the sports car. It's not going to fall out of the sky. Right, like, like there's not some magic contest that you can enter with the universe.
So you get the sports car for nothing. You still have to work for it. So this is my, yes, be in the place where you want to be. Act as if you already have what you want. Do all those things. But also know that you have to work hard for what you want. Absolutely. And just because like we have a beautiful, beautiful life, but that, but it was not without great struggle and lots of adversity we've had to have. Like they're, you know, when I, when we think about even the driving back and forth and we were joking about it the other night and all the crazy things we've seen along the way we could do a podcast just on funny things that have happened going back and forth. But you, you know, you can't tell me that it takes, it takes a lot to love your life as much as we've loved our life to be together and to work towards always making sure that we do the best we can with your family and your kids and my kids and my family.
And you know what the, the key really is, is don't give up. Right. Don't give up on your dreams. Make sure you are dreaming because if you're, if you're, if you're dreaming it means that you're creating the picture for the universe to say, this is what I'm aiming towards. This is what I'm working towards. This is what I want. And you're making the space for it. If you don't dream, how, how can you know where you want to go? How can the universe know where you want to go? How does anybody else know where you want to go? You've got to dream. You've, those dreams are so connected to your actual soul path. So when you dream, it's, it's an indicator that that is already in your plan. Right. You put, it's there. It's already being manifested. It's sort of like the seed, the seed of that dream is in your soul plan.
Where you take it is up to you. But it's, it's like, if you're dreaming and you're wanting and desiring something, it means it's already, it's already in that soul blueprint for you to work towards. It's funny. I was telling Laura the other day, I, we took my grandsons hiking and we took them to this beautiful waterfalls. And there was a big rock that, you know, people were jumping off of in my grandson, my oldest grandson. He's almost 10. He was like, man, I want to go jump off that rock at the cliff. And I was like, oh dear God. Just, just like you. I did that. And then, you know, I did, and I did way higher cliff dives than that. And, but I can tell you that if somebody asked me for what was one of the things that I did in my life that really was exhilarating, cause I've done a lot, believe me.
The feeling of diving into the water, obviously safe water, but there is something about the trust that you have to take that leap of faith into the water and dive. But to know you're going to come up out of it, it's when you hit the water, I will never forget how good that feels. And I can't dive anymore because I have four herniated discs in my neck and the doctor said it's a no, no. And I, you, you can't even at 58 years old when I was there last, you know, a couple of weeks ago, I so wanted to dive, but it was because the acceleration of that trust and leap of faith and it's the feeling when you hit the water and you come up, it's like you just did this incredible thing. And for somebody else, it might be a hot air balloon or it might be like, I don't know, but for me, I've done so many things in my life, you know, but that diving was like, it's always something that stuck with me.
And when I feel, you know, that feeling of exhilaration that just feels like I trusted myself, I knew I could do it, but there's a whole different meaning when you're a nanny and your grandson's looking at you and I had to watch my kids jump off train bridges and stuff because I did it. So, you know, they were like, well, I want to do it, but at least they were jumping and not diving because the mother was diving off all the crazy big spots, but. Man, but that takes, it takes so much, it's like trust, but the exhilarating part is when it, when, like what you want, it happens. Like you have that huge rush and then you're rewarded like by, by like, yeah, the exhilaration of the experience. And it's taking your risk. Right, but you're living your life in ways that, you know, it's like going down to the lake and going for a swim in the dark.
I don't know what it is about the dark, but I love it. And people say, oh no, I don't wanna, I don't see, I don't wanna see what's in there in the daytime, let alone nighttime, think about it. I don't think about that stuff. That's never in my mind because I know, just like swimming in the ocean, my grandkids are like, Nanny, there's your sharks in there. I'm like, dear God, listen, there is sharks in the ocean, but they're not around where I'm swimming. I'm not going out into the middle of the ocean, although I have jumped off fishing boats into the ocean and people have seen big things in the water beside me, but I don't worry about it because there's something in me that says, that's not how I'm going out. I've never been worried about getting eaten by a shark. I don't think that's how I chose to die in this life, you know, matter of fact, I kind of think I know how I'm gonna go in this life, but anyway, that's for another day.
Well, so we're, so okay, let's just say, I gotta regroup after that. Oh God. I'm just looking at the expression on your face, so you know. Okay, so we're trusting divine timing, right? And we decided we're not gonna compare ourselves to others. We've already set our intentions and we're taking action and things are still not happening. This is because sometimes it's things aren't falling into place and you May not know it, but it May not be in your highest good for the event to happen at this point in your life. And this is where we have to practice some patience and understand that there's a greater plan. There's a bigger plan. So work on your patience, which is something Kim and I don't really have, but we are working on it all the time.
It's a lifetime message. It's a lifetime struggle, you know, patience. But then listening to your intuition. So this is something I just wanted to mention quickly. You know, when you are listening to your intuition, it means that you're paying attention to things that get your, like they draw your eye or they come into your awareness. So you are actually a good way to do this is to get up in the morning and say to the universe, please show me everything I need today to advance on my soul path. Please show me everything I need to see today and bring in opportunities, people, experiences. But let go of expectations. Oh yeah, no expectations, but just saying, please bring things into my awareness in a way that I will see it, that I will pay attention, I will process it and I will move forward with things that feel good to me because the universe could send you a letter in the mail and it might not even be about what you think, like you, but you May pick it up and see certain words on it and go, wow, that's a message.
May send you numbers, number sequences. You May see certain animals like outside, like there's all kinds of signs. You May have somebody call you and tell you things, like say phrases that you have heard like three times over in the past few days and it might be just kind of random person but the message is coming from the universe. You May see something, an ad or something, like there's so many things. Somebody might mention a book you should read and then maybe you run into somebody else and they say, you should read this book and then, you know. Or the book shows up on your table from somebody. Right. Said, oh, I read this book, it was great. It happens to be the book you were talking about. Yeah, or I'm gonna give you this book. So listening to your intuition means staying in a state of awareness and mindfulness and allowing the universe to show you the way and give you the opportunities and then surrendering.
So that's what I had to do in Sedona with the house. I had to just surrender and say, I did everything. I did everything I could and now I'm just gonna stay in awareness and wait for the opportunities to come and I'm gonna trust that you're gonna send me everything in my highest good. So something is coming, I just don't know what. And sure enough, you know, got home and the massage therapist was like, hey, you should go look at this house. And that's what started everything. So the universe is looking after us. The universe is making sure that we have everything in our best interest and that we are moving on our path properly. Your job is to make sure that you're listening and that you trust. You trust that that is the path. I think a busy mind can create, you know, us to lose that initial jump in time.
So, you know, if you're stressed out or you're full of anxiety or you're fearful or whatever, you know, all of the above, you can miss the signs, you know, because your head's so busy. You can't, how can you keep something, you know, hold a thought if there's a thousand million thoughts in there that keep bumping that thought out? Well, that's it. I mean, if you're, this is often something that we see is that people do not actually take the time to clear their mind, clear their schedule, to just listen, to allow the universe to speak. Because like you said, you get all your thoughts, all the things you have to do, your to-do list, all the stuff on your phone, the emails, the calls, you know, sometimes we just get too overloaded and we need to kind of dump, you know, all the stuff that's in there and just listen.
And the thing about divine timing, it can be frustrating because when you've already decided you know what you want and it feels like things aren't quite lining up, it's usually because it's just, the timing is not in your best interest. And when you force things, when you force things into being, it usually backfires. So this is about preparing, working towards your goals, listening and trusting that there is a path for you. Well, and I look at this house, it was a, it's a good analogy, you know, like, we wanted, well, at the time, you know, you can only afford what you can afford, it's your budget, we all have them.
But we had a budget and we could not go over that budget. And I was like, I was very strict, like very defined line. I kept pulling Laura back and go, no, no, no, no, no. I kept saying to Kim, I said, I can't find anything under this and we only have this. Like, can we bump it up another 50 or 100,000? And Kim was like, no. I was like, it's gonna show up. And the beauty in what happened is we've, you know, you kept having this vision of a new house. Well, it was red, which is funny because our house is Navajo red. But this house just needed love. And what a beautiful example of what we do in life that we've had to create this beautiful home and this beautiful, like the lot and everything, you know, everything about this lot just feels like this was like, you know, the diamond in the rough.
It was this beautiful property that was, you know, not loved and not appreciated. And now because I am who I am, I look out and it's a sunny day and I see the trees stand in tall and proud and I see the flowers like, I feel the essence of the plant, of the tree, of the earth and it makes me so happy because I'm creating this space for the plants to show what they're here for and to give them purpose. And I literally hear the plants say, thank you for seeing me. Thank you for giving us purpose because that's what the earth was intended for, to create beautiful food and flowers and the medicinal properties in the plant medicine and, you know, the way the light coming through our property makes even our neighbors that they're always stopping and looking at our home or pulling the window down to tell us how great things look.
That's amazing. And this is really what divine timing and love can do. Right. And I don't even want to think about what would have happened if we didn't trust that divine timing. So just for you, just for all our listeners, you need to know that divine timing is working for you too. And just because things aren't exactly the way you want them to be right now, they will be. And when you get there, you better say thank you. It's, it is an amazing feeling. See you next week.
