Hello, I'm Kim. And I'm Laura. And today we're talking about awareness. It's not everyone's cup of tea. No, it's not. It is not. We love it, but not everybody does. Well, we know, because we've been through so many things, that we know we have to be strong souls. You have to be a strong soul to be here, to be on a spiritual path. And I'm sure many of you that are listening would agree. Yeah. Sometimes you're, I always said it, you sometimes you feel like you're, you know those things you used to put on your bicycles when you were a kid and it went tuk, tuk, tuk, tuk, tuk, tuk. Yeah. Sometimes I feel like that's me every time I get smacked in the head with some new awareness. Right? Oh man. Yeah, it really is not for the faint of heart, a spiritual path, but you know, I don't feel like I would train it for anything.

No, because we're gonna talk about all aspects of it. But honestly, I love being aware because for me, it's like there's less crap. Yes. Because you filtered through a whole ton of it. And you go, I don't have to do that anymore because I figured out why I was doing that forever. Well, if you can look at it like challenge and struggle, it clarifies things for you. Like it takes all the guesswork out of things because you actually get to know yourself really well. And you get to kind of experience what you like, what you don't like, what you want around you, what you don't, and then you get really clear on what you wanna ask for or what you need to improve in your life. So really, I enjoy awareness.

Yeah, me too. I like knowing where I am, what I'm doing, how I feel about things. And I like knowing what is happening kind of around me, but some people really don't like this. And you can see- It makes them nervous. Well, it either makes them nervous or it makes them feel kind of uneasy because you really have to kind of step out of your control. You have to step out of what you think, the way you think things should be and how much control you think you have because I hate to break it to you, but you don't have any control. There's no real control. Can you control the way you fold your towels? Sure you can. But you cannot control a spiritual path. It is, and you can't control the universe or how people connect with you.

It's just that old thing, right? You can only control how you react with two things. And there's so many things happening that you're aware of when you're on a spiritual path. Sorry, I'm like, I'm all choked up here. Well, it is like nine o'clock at night and we're doing this podcast because we have two little sweetie pies and they're two and four and they've been keeping us. Yeah, we have the grandkids this week, so we're up late. But seriously, there are different types of souls. And I know about myself, I know I want the growth, I'm curious, I'm like a sponge, I want information. Me too. Yeah, like I wanna know things, not just about myself but about my path and about the people around me and I really like and enjoy that.

But it's like your life has more meaning because there's so much more to everything. Yeah, but you know yourself how difficult it is sometimes to be a spiritually aware person and trying to stay in a good place and stay on your path and all these things are thrown at you all the time. So there are souls that are, I think, my opinion is that they're just here for a vacation. Yes, yes, I can see that. For me though, I've always been kind of so serious about this stuff in one way because I'm like, you know, we are so lucky to be here. And I think we're really lucky. I know everybody complains about everything that's happening in the world and I understand that. But it's like, how amazing is it to live in this time?

Because if you look at all the crazy that's happening, we're here having awarenesses all the time and we're able to help other people have awarenesses that create more love, more growth, more fulfillment, different perspective, like, you know, it could go on and on and on. Oh my gosh, but you- I just feel like your life has more meaning, don't you? But oh yeah, but you see, you appreciate, you appreciate the path, you appreciate the learnings, whereas some people look at the learnings as an inconvenience, as too much struggle, too much suffering, you know, it's all in how you look at it. And so we have the souls that literally look like they're just gliding through life. I don't know why or what the point is of this. There are a few souls that just come here to just like kind of like sail on through.

And it's so annoying for a lot of people looking at them going, why is everything just so easy for them? But that is a real thing. And I'm not quite sure, like on a universal level why that happens, but it does. And then we have the souls that are just refusing to be aware. So they don't want to. I just heard like my little two year old granddaughter go, I don't want to. That's exactly how I look at people. Give me my toys and I'm going home. Like they don't want to engage. I don't want to play your game anymore. Right, right. They don't want to engage with anything. Everything's too much for them. And so there are souls that are in that place as well. And then there's people like Kim, who embrace it, who love it, who are like, give me more.

I want more. I got a tough head. I want another mile added onto my marathon. Thank you very much. But there's also souls like me, like I love learning. But there are some times that I'm like really mad. Like last week, I had this feeling like I should clean out the bottom of our washing machine because it had like boxes of new Kleenex in it, like stored there. And I thought, I really should clean that out because it's underneath the washing machine. If the washing machine leaked, it would wreck the Kleenex. Didn't the washing machine start leaking last night? Eight boxes of Kleenex. We throw eight boxes of Kleenex because it was stored in the bottom of the washer. Like, and then that's when you go, ah, this awareness was not, I wish I never had it because I didn't act on it.

So that that's me really in a nutshell is like I have all these premonitions and things. And I usually do try to act on them. And then when I don't, I'm like, ah, so annoying. Well, last week I told you I had the dream that the water was coming through the house. So it was kind of funny. Yeah, yeah. So Kim had a premonition too. You didn't tell me to move the Kleenex. I know, right? So yeah. I forgot it was there. Is awareness kind of a pain in the ass? Yes it is. But it's the best pain in the ass, right? I remember you telling me a story years ago about somebody in the family that was, I think, brain cancer or something. Oh yeah. And I remember you saying that after her diagnosis she said that she could see the beauty in every blade of grass.

And I have to say that I finally know what that feels like because this year working in the garden, it was like, it's not just about being grounded, being outside. It's that spear talks to me crystal clear when I'm outside. So I'm out there and it's like in my head, obviously I'm not talking out loud while I walk around all the way. Although sometimes I do do that. Talk to myself, I'm quite comfortable with that. That's okay, it's quite healthy. But I think the reason why I love being outside and I love being in the earth so much is that it's nurturing me. It really is. And when I'm out there, I hear the earth talking to me. I hear spirit talking to me. And I'm just like in this state of like meditation and awe. So I feel so grateful for every little thing.

I was like, they're one day going, oh, look at this. I have these little red wigglers in their worms and I feed them our compost. And then I think, you know, and then I'll, I'll just be funny and say, you know, they poop and their poop is like gold, right? So, you know, you put their castings in your ear. But again, again, let's just, let's just clarify this for a second. Kim is in love with everything and everything is wonderful. And she wants bigger and better things all the time. That is her personality. And she's like, oh, you had a hard time with that. Why? I think it's great. You know, like that is her. So yes, of course you would love your worm farm and you would love their poop and it would be very fascinating and interesting and exciting to you.

Well, it's a whole cycle, a full circle, right? So it's like, you go from that to put in the, like making sure the earth is healthy. And then because the earth is healthy and because you pay attention, then you have these beautiful vegetables and berries and herbs and, you know, I can go on and on. So it's just this thing that it's a lot of work and a lot of money, but it like feeds me so much. It's ridiculous. I think that you had, like we talk about people can mark their spiritual awakening. People can say, this is what happened to me. I think Kim's been awake her whole life. So I don't really know if she can speak to this, but like, I think most people start to have a spiritual awakening and they start to freak out, like what is wrong with me?

I think that's the biggest thing. Like I remember feeling like I had all these, all of a sudden I was sensitive to everything. Like, and I'm not talking just energy. I'm sensitive to laundry detergent. I'm sensitive to dish soap. Sensitive to different fabrics. I'm sensitive to mold. I'm sensitive to the grass and the hay and the, I'm like, and different foods. And I'm like, please, like, why? I am too. Yeah. So you shift and something happens to your energy field. So yes, those physical things are happening. And then all of a sudden you're allergic to your coworkers. That's really terrible. And then you're allergic to your workplace. And then you're like, I don't know what to do. I have to work here. But I, my spiritual awakening started to happen. And I was like, so I'm getting sensitive to things in my environment.

And I was substitute teaching at the time. So of course I was allergic to work. I mean, it was terrible, but I got a, I got a long-term sub job at a high school. And I was really excited because I had been going like day to day, like waiting for that phone call to know if I, where I was going the next day. So I got a long-term position and it was like six weeks. So I show up. I mean, the job itself was very difficult. It was a French immersion biology 12 and little Miss Laura does not speak French. So you can imagine. But I was like, yay, they just want a warm body in the, you know, behind the teacher's seat. You know, it's a long-term position. But I didn't know what I was getting into because I got into the school and because my energy was so wide open, I was suffering, but I didn't know why.

I didn't have the knowing to know that it was an energetic problem. And I came to find out the school was brand new. Like I'm talking to brand new high school. So I'm thinking there's no ghosts in this brand new building. That makes no sense, right? But I already was, I was already kind of working myself through being a medium, trying to figure that out. But I'm like, how could there be ghosts in this brand new place? And it was so new that all the furniture was new and we had to keep our windows open because the furniture was off-gassing like, you know, chemical smell because it was all plastic furniture. So it was that new. So I'm in this like classroom and I'm looking out at a historic site in Halifax.

And all of a sudden I got this feeling like something just hit me in the chest and I realized that no one had thought to ask for a blessing for the land before they built that ginormous high school. And the land, the indigenous energy was not happy. So many atrocities had taken place on that land 200, 250 years ago, whatever it was that the spirits were unhappy. They were like really unhappy. And here's me just opening up to mediumship and trying to teach biology 12 in French. But, you know, I know nothing of French. So, you know, I have so many pressures on me and then to add to it, the spirits are unhappy.

And I'm like, oh, God, like what am I supposed to do? So I made it through the six weeks but like I had to go outside at lunchtime. I had to reground myself at lunchtime. I had to do all these protection things on my way to school. Like I'd be driving in my car and I had this visualization that I was in a fish tank because I figured in a fish tank I have barrier protection. And even if energy was trying to get through that wasn't good for me, it would be slowed down by the water in the fish tank. So I'd visualize myself in a fish tank every day but I got so good at the visualizations that I felt like I was carrying around a fish tank and it was, so I would be heavy. So you weren't in it, you were carrying it. Leave it to you to make it hard on yourself. Right? Right? So then I thought, okay, what's better?

Armor, right? So I'm like, okay, armor's good. That only lasted a couple of days because then I'm carrying around a bunch of heavy metal armor. Like what the heck am I doing? So then I decided to do energy ribbons because I figured, okay, light ribbons. They're very light. But then I, this is not, I'm not lying about this. I started tripping over my feet. Like how is this happening? I'm creating this, I'm trying to protect myself and I'm creating this other energy that's not good. But I was learning. I was learning and I was trying to figure it all out. So then I started making sure I went outside at lunchtime or at least opening my window and sticking my head out of the window which is so much you praise everything. So I was trying to like cope, right? And I'm like, okay, I got a ground to get it like, gotta protect myself, gotta be okay here.

Six weeks, six weeks. I kept having my head six weeks and I'm getting out of here. Cause at this point, I didn't know how to help these spirits. I didn't know what to do. And the pressure is on. Cause that's Laura. So the department head, the department head came and he said, listen, the teacher, she can't come back. We need you for another two weeks. And you're dying. I looked at him and I said, no, no, I said, no. And I'm to anybody that knows you knows how hard that would be for her to say, no, because she worked so hard at every time she does. Well, if you're a substitute teacher and you get a long-term at the time, I don't know what it's like in the teaching world now, but at the time, if you get a long-term subbing position that was like gold, like you wanted to hang on to that, like the golden ticket.

And when he asked me to stay two more weeks, I thought I was going to die. I was like, I cannot do this. I can't do this anymore. And so, and I mean on top of it, like it's a high school. So kids are mean. Actually, a lot of the teachers are mean. It's just like, whatever. So I was like, okay. I didn't know this was going to be this funny tonight. I'm enjoying myself. This is what keeps me awake. Oh, I pressed the applause button. There you go. I just learned how to use the buttons. Oh no, here we go people. Be prepared. So anyway, I say no. That's a really bad thing because then he never hired me back. Not even for a day. He was like pissed off at me because I said no. He just moved on to the next person.

No. But I didn't know what else to say. What am I supposed to say? I can't teach her because the energy is awful. Like he was a science department head. He's going to look at me like- You crazy lady. Yeah, like he's going to look at me like I'm crazy and he's going to tell all his friends I'm crazy. So anyway, that's the story of your life. Right? Not everybody's like me. So like, yeah, the burdens of spiritual awakening. I never got to teach there again. I love that you're that way because I'm the total opposite where I'm like, wait a minute, why are you getting so obsessed? What's such a big deal? I never think of protecting myself. Oh, but that was when I- I feel like I walk around and I'm very, and it's not that I'm not aware that, you know, things are happening in that.

It's that I don't feel like I need any protection. I feel like the universe gave me everything I needed when I came down here. Yeah, I didn't know you then. So I had no idea what I was doing. Yeah, so if you've ever been in, if you've, if you're an empath and you've been having all these troubles at work, I mean, I wouldn't recommend you quit your job. That's basically what I did. I was like, I'm not coming back here. Don't do that, you know? There are things you can do. Seek out a Laura of your own. I just didn't know any better. I just didn't know like how to handle it. And I was overwhelmed. And I think I made up some excuse like, ah, yeah, like I can't like stress or I don't know what. But yeah, so I went on. I got lots of other jobs, don't worry.

I was teaching all over the place, but you know, cause people love me. It's okay. Well, yeah, they still do. I remember being as young as four and five years old and feeling people around me. But pardon me, feeling that they were doing things in a way that I could see what they were doing was not right or, you know, it was very dysfunctional. But I could also tell that they didn't mean to. They like I could feel people. And I was so empathetic at a very young age. And even today, here I am this big six foot tall. I'm not a small person. And you want to see me watching TV with Laura. It's a hoot. Because if anything comes on the TV, that's like, and I'm a big strong girl too. But if anything comes on that's hurting anybody or being disrespectful or whatever, I'm like, I got my hands in front of my eyes and I'm going, oh God, oh, I can't, I can't watch it.

And Laura goes, don't watch it. Don't look. And then she'll tell me when I can look. Well, that's it. Like she, I mean, literally we're talking about somebody who's studied like martial arts. And like a couple guys totally kick your ass. And she's scared of a TV show. But I mean, you know, whatever. No, I just, I can't handle people hurting each other. Like that's what gets me. And I lived enough crazy in my life that I just, for me, it's like, why, why do that when there's so many other wonderful things you can do with your time and day and the people you love. Oh yeah. And I get that. I mean, obviously as you become more sensitive and you're opening and you're understanding energy more, it is harder to watch, you know, people hurt each other.

It really is a real thing. And you start to feel pain in your body as you're watching it to you. I do. And it's so, it's so direct with me. It's not just that by seeing it, it's cause I can, I can block my eyes, but then I hear it. And through hearing it, I still feel it. So for me, it's like, I, you know, I, I'm not going to say I don't ever watch TV, but I love watching something that's funny. And I love, I'm a hopeless romantic. So I love watching Laura teases me because, you know, I love the romance stories and stuff. And she's always, Well, but see, you're very in tune with what makes your energy feel right. So that's something that feels good to you. And that's, that's the thing that happens. You, you just learn really clearly what is good for you and what isn't.

And you almost feel a responsibility to keep your energy in a good place. And spiritual awakening happens and to people in many different ways, but some people have some very kind of challenging things around it because there's people in their life. They realize they're toxic or, you know, they realize that maybe a job isn't for them anymore. They just can't consciously do it anymore. And it just changes so much of your life. Some people literally pick up everything and move. They move to a new place because they just can't stay where they've been. And well, I had the move, but it was all your fault. Oh yeah. It is my fault. I brought you here. I dragged you here. I couldn't see her if I didn't move away, you know.

Yeah. You know, what can I say? As I set my D. I think we have, we are faced with a choice in the beginning. You know, do you want to continue on this path? But I'm telling you, it's so, it's so interesting. And to me, it's so much a part of me that I knew I wasn't going to be able to say no. But I do feel like that some people are given sort of like a choice. Like, is this the path you want to take? I don't think Kim and I are those people because I tried to turn away from this path many, many times in the beginning. And even when I was a kid, I remember having an awareness about somebody or seeing somebody's sickness almost like I would see something about them that just looked off to me.

And then I started to see almost like an outline of somebody's skull, like when they were going to pass away, but I was only a little kid. So I was scared, I didn't like it. And I started to... That's a completely different awareness too because that's pretty profound, right? Yeah, well, I started to pray because that was the thing like we were, you know, we were going to church every Sunday. So I thought, you know, if God can't take this away, like nobody can kind of thing. So I kept asking and it would go away like for a little while, but it kept coming back and it came back with such force in my life through many events that there was no way I could stop it. So by the time I was, by the time I had met Kim, I was going to give this stuff up all together.

I was just done. I was like, this is too hard. Oh no, you're not. I can't handle it. I'm not doing this, you know? And Kim was the one that said, you know, you can't, you can't turn your back on this now. Like you, you have to follow this path. This is, this is your path. And the other thing, like somewhere along the way, like I, you gain perspective. And yeah, and it's like, it's you keep getting these gifts. Yeah. You know, because really this life is a gift and everything we get to experience as a gift. And I think the gifts get better. Yeah. As you keep trusting yourself because when you grow it, it literally feels like somebody is pushing you beyond yourself. And we'll, we'll say to each other that sometimes, you know, because we're stubborn people too.

We're, we're very drawn to what we're doing, but we're stubborn in our humaneness. And sometimes like I always joke and say, we have to have our head put right through the wall, but growth is about expansion. It's about being pushed outside of yourself. And even if I go back to saying when you, you know, Laura said, you have a choice with this. Yes, you do. But once you start shifting and changing and you get into the new perspectives and the new awarenesses, you see things so clearly that you just, you're in a room and people are still talking the way they always used to talk. And you go, I can't do this anymore. And you go, this hurts me because they're not in awareness. So they're not realizing that they're in a room full of people. And some of the things that happened to me where people be in a room and there'd be three overweight people and they might be me, my mom and whoever else was in the room.

And then other people would be talking about overweight people like they were the worst people in the world. That's the awareness, I mean, and we could talk about a hundred different, like topics just like this, but the dog is drinking and we can hear it. Yeah, you can, you can hear my dog having some water. Yeah, but it's just that, you know, you, everything changes. And then what, what you were okay with before and it wasn't that you're really okay with it. It's that you didn't, you didn't know how to change it in a way because you love these people. They could have been your friends and family or whatever. And you didn't know how to not be around them and be okay with what was going on. Well, I think what really happens like on an energy level is that you've raised your vibration.

And you know, you can't expect people like they don't know you've done that. They can't come with you. They're not ready or they're at a different place in their life. Maybe they didn't sign up for it either, right? Maybe they didn't sign up for it. They just take it easy. So what they're doing is the same thing they've always done, but see your vibration is higher so it literally sometimes can feel like it's hurting your field. Like it, it's getting in and it's causing problems. And you start to feel so much compassion for other people too, that when other people are not compassionate and if they're mean or hateful, it really can upset the energy in your energy field if you allow it to. And in the beginning, it feels like everything affects you.

Everything causes sensitivity, everything, because you are getting used to that higher vibration and you don't have all the tools in your, you know, in your tool belt yet to deal with lower vibrations. And it's funny, the things that happened to us that we don't know. Like for me, I've always had a trust in what I didn't know, or what I couldn't understand, like I didn't understand or what I, you know, what I couldn't control. I think I've always had this magnetic pull, I would say towards growth. Yeah, on a spiritual level, consciousness. I get that. And I also had, I like the growth piece. Like I've always been that person. And I feel like I'm just a forever learner. I just want to learn everything.

But I also had this fascination with life and death. Oh, yeah. And I had this like, this interest in like, where do we go? What happens to consciousness? Like the deeper kind of meaning to life. And that never changed. I was always like that. And I got some answers, I guess, you know, when I was a kid going to church, but it didn't always click with me. Like, you know, how can you think one way but then say something else or do something else? Like that was kind of hard for me to make sense of. And I just ended up learning really how to take what I wanted from things and kind of leave the rest. I think somebody else, I guess. I think it's amazing to how life can be.

Cause when I was a kid, I struggled in school. Like I was lucky to get a C average, you know? And all I really cared about was passing because I just didn't have, I didn't have the headspace to study or, you know, but I can remember stuttering when we were in like, we'd have English class and you'd do reading. Yeah, like reading out loud or, yeah. Da, da, da, I can't talk. And I would stutter. I get so nervous. And then ironically enough in junior high, we had to write a speech and I get the highest mark. Yay for me. Where's the applause? Come on, morning with it. Oh, thank you. So for getting the best mark, I got to say it, say my speech in front of the whole frigging school.

I did not think that was an award. Oh, there we go. So I was thinking, oh my God, I'm gonna do this, right? But I did it and I stared out and I just didn't look at any one person. I looked at a spot and I just gave my speech and I did really well and I got an award. And, you know, ironically, that was my favorite award I ever got. And I was like athlete of the year one year and valedictorian, play guitar and sang at my own grade eight graduation, you know, all by myself, you know? Cause back then like your parents didn't come to everything like we do today. And I just never ever thought any big deal about anything I ever did. And I was always an overachiever in sports and everything, just not school. But if I went to school today, I would be a geek because I love learning.

I love quantum physics and I watch these shows and Laura comes in and goes, what are you watching? Yeah. I'm like, oh, I love it. I love it. Well, that's a thing though, but once you decide you're gonna go on this path, you really have to like, you kind of are forced to jump in. And I still remember every time spirit came through. So whether it was a spirit I recognized or not or whether it was a guide, I just kept getting these new awarenesses about how life really is or how it looks like from the spirit world. And I remember, like I've told the story before that the first voice I heard was my great grandmother, the first voice that I knew that I could connect to somebody I knew. And she said that I would always feel like not whole if I didn't pursue this path that I would always feel like something was missing for my life.

And that really made me think because before that I didn't realize I had anything missing. I had an awareness that I wasn't completely happy, but I didn't have, and I had an awareness that, you know, maybe there's, you know, more to life, I guess, but I didn't really realize I had something missing, like within myself. And so that was a big awareness to think about, okay, like this is really a part of me. So if this is a part of me, I want to explore this. And every time committing a little bit more to the path, but I have had people say to me, that spiritual path is sort of like, it's sort of like sitting at the very, at the top of a very tall slide. And you start to go down the slide because you're like, yeah, spiritual awareness, woohoo.

But then the slide gets faster and faster and then there's a fog and you can't see where you're going and you don't know where the slide ends. And you're just like- A little water on the slide, you go faster on the corners. But you're just like, you're stuck. Like you're just, you have momentum now and you're just going and you have no control. And that's one of the big things I realized, I had to let go of control. I had to let go of what I thought was going to be because so many things were happening and did happen that I didn't expect or I didn't plan, but were amazing and wonderful at the same time. So this idea like that we can kind of turn it off. I mean, I never had that privilege to turn this off.

I think it just continued to evolve and keep happening. And I'm happy for it now because I have perspective on life and these things that work for me that make me feel more confident about my path. And it also removes a lot of that kind of stress of wondering like, am I doing this right? Am I not doing this right? I'm telling you right now, there was one day I got a message from my guides and they said, you literally cannot mess this up. Because I needed that message though, because I kept thinking, what if I do this? What if I do that? Should I do this? Did I talk to that person? What if I didn't do that in time? Oh my God, I missed the deadline. Ah, you know, and then, so my guides- I'm married to this woman.

So I know all the crazy ping pong balls in her head. Oh my God. So my guides were annoyed with me. They were like, shut up. You cannot mess this up. There is nothing you can do. And then that became my mantra. I was like, I can't mess this up. Like whatever happens happens. And then you have me who, I'm sitting over here going, I find it so funny, and obviously not funny, ha ha, but sort of, because I've always been the type of person that I just keep going. And things hit me and hurt me. And some things, you know, they hit me and I go, wow. You know, like- Hey, like a full moon. Yeah, oh dear God. You know, but I'm so grateful for all the experience.

And even as crazy as I can say that I've had a lot of crazy in my life in the sense of like a lot of experience in a lot of different things. And not fun things. However, they've made me who I am and I really do trust that I chose this life. So I trust what I chose. Even if I don't know in the moment what's coming next, I know that I'm going to be able to get through it. And I've always had that on my side. I think that, you know, and you'll often say, you know, you're not normal. And I go, okay, but for me, I'm very normal. You're not. And I just look at things as every day, you know, this year, more than ever before, I've really learned that it's the little things that matter the most.

It's all the things we take for granted. It's all the things we make harder than they have to be that really that's a sweet spot. It's, it's, you know, when we moved here, because we used to live down by the ocean and our Laura's youngest is 15 now, but you know, three years ago, they were 12 and we would always take a walk to the ocean and watch the sunset, right? And when we moved, we're like, oh, we're going to miss those so much. But where we are now, if you just walk on our back deck, you can see the sunset every single night. And I can remember, you know, Luke would come up and he'd be like, mom, oh man, look at the sunset. Look at that sky's beautiful. You know, and I just love that they're paying attention.

And even with my grandkids, it's like, you know, we always take them to the beach and little do they know that we're doing these things because they're very grounding. And kids need to get outside and they need to feel the earth. They need to have like release all their energy and stuff. And, you know, because we're giving them the experiences of these very simple things that cost no money that we just don't think of them enough. And they're happy. Every time we have the kids, they're calmer. They're not on any devices. We limit their sugar because we don't want them bouncing off the walls. And that's kind of what sugar does. But, you know, they're different around us. And most people are, there's a calmness and a, you know. That's true.

And we're fun. I know that too, but. And we are fun. But if I was a kid, I don't think I'd mess with you. So, just saying. But here's the thing. We've got all these things that are happening around us all the time and what Kim was just talking about are some of the things that we can do to kind of simplify and bring us back to our core when we're feeling off because awareness is beautiful. Awareness is full of reward. And wonder. Wonder. And there's curiosity and teaching. And it's wonderful. It's magical. But it can also be really hard when you're a tuned in person, a connected person, and there's a bay old full moon up there. And you haven't slept for three days.

These things do affect you as an energy sensitive person. Now they didn't affect me before. At least I wasn't aware of it. But now it's like, sometimes it would be three days before a new moon or a full moon or sometimes three days after. But now, holy, it's just like whack. I have met people that, you know, I had like, I'd say like business dealings with but not very often. But I have met people that will say to me, they'll know that we have an appointment and three days before they can't sleep. And they don't sleep for three days before they see me. And I'm sorry. I don't try to do that to people. But that actually happened to Kim and I when we met. If we were in close proximity of each other, we didn't sleep.

Like there was, it was like laying there just wide awake, steering at the ceiling. And we were both like, what is wrong with us? Like, this is so weird. But we didn't know, we didn't know all of our connection. We knew we were really connected. But it wasn't. Well, even the first night we met, it was at a group reading here. And I'm from New Brunswick. And I remember looking at her and she was talking and I didn't even care about a reading really. I was just having fun in the energy of it all. But I remember just feeling like I know her. Like, I mean, I deeply know her. Like, and I, and I knew I loved her right off the bat, but it was like, I thought we were soul sisters. And, you know, I didn't know the tsunami that was coming. But I felt that even her tattoo on her left forearm and it was just crazy to me.

And then later on, when we were, you know, obviously connected and together, there was past lives like you wouldn't believe just like, just it was literally like you're watching a movie and you just seen all these clips. So it was this life and that life and this life and that life. And, and, and those things pull you together even deeper than, you know, the physical could because there's this knowing of it. So you have the strong knowing you trust it so much. There's no question. And it, it doesn't even matter what it takes to get there. It's like, you know, that's where you got to go because you feel it being, you're being drawn into it. Well, that's, we often think about what happens when we come into contact with people that their energy is not a match for us. Like we get, you know, immediately we get this feeling and we're like, I, you know, that person makes me feel uneasy.

That makes me feel nervous or sick to my stomach or something. And that's one thing. But when you meet somebody who is good for your energy and you start to see there's some kind of connection, that is the craziest feeling in a good way. It makes you feel like, not only alive, but it makes you feel almost like there's like a current running through you. And there is. And you can get like a kind of like validation like goosebumps, you know, people get the validation or you might get a knowing or you might even like see a little something like a little past life or something like that. I know I met somebody years ago and I met him totally by accident, but I just met him and I gave him my business card and he was like, oh, cool.

At the time, I just thought, well, whatever. I gave out a business card, but he messaged me the next day and he was like, I'm flying out and I just feel like I should meet you. And I was like, okay. So I ended up meeting him, but just in a professional kind of way, it was supposed to be about work and there was something about him that just was like, I don't know why, but you are supposed to be in my life. And I had many lessons from him, some good, some not so good, but you know, like. Even the ones that aren't so good are really still really good for us. Well it's still learning and I needed it. I needed to learn to stand on my own two feet and that's really what he taught me. But I remember the day we met and both of us were shocked because we were shaking.

We were like, both of us vibrating and we're like looking at each other going, this is weird, right? Like this is weird, like, you know, but it just happened because it was some connection we had to make, we had to make it. And then like. Well, when you first came to my wellness center to actually work and this would, this was a month and a half after we first met. And I was like, I have to get her to my wellness center and help other people. Because, you know, if I'm, if I'm honest, the thing I'm here for on this earth more than anything else, and I know it 100% is to try to make the world a better place just by existing in it and by what I can share with people because that, you know, everything in life brings me joy, but that is my number one, my number one thing.

Because even as a mom, I love being a mom. I love even more being a grandmother, but I always acted like even with my kids, I didn't own them. They were a gift and I had them for a certain length of time and per se, and that was my job too. And I took my job very serious as mom. I really did, it was like, it's my job to teach them how to be good human beings and to grow up and be out into the world and be able to function on their own. But I also trusted and still trust every day that they have within them what they need. And that's not always easy to trust when you're watching or when you're having the perspective you and I have where we know, we don't know exactly what's coming down the line, but we feel something's coming and we know it's not gonna be easy.

Yeah, that's it. Like you had to trust, you had a feeling you needed to get me to your wellness center. You had to trust that feeling. You couldn't see what was coming. You couldn't see the future. We just had, the first night we met, we had this immediate connection, this vibrational connection. And I remember being excited to talk to her and she was excited to talk to me. And I was like, I was like, well, we were just like, like two little kids that meet up and they go, oh, you like purple, I like purple. And then that's it, your best friends. But it was kind of so strange because we started talking and I remember she was like, oh yeah, I wanna show you my tattoo. And she pulled her whole shirt off to show me the tattoo on her back. And I was like, oh, I love this woman.

Just her like, her just bare honesty and joy. And like- You don't always love that now. Enthusiasm for life, yes I do. So love it. I'm brutally honest, I don't even know what the heck. But I can't lie to save my soul. I just don't like it when it works against me. You know, I love it when it works for me. Exactly. But yeah, like we had this instant connection and she asked me to come to the Wellness Center. And that first weekend that I was there, it was pretty magical in the sense of like, the readings that were given, the connections made, the energy we created. But we even just had a bonfire outside. Oh yeah. We let all, there was 15 women there, right? Getting readings and we let whoever wanted to stay, stay and hang out and we just talked.

We sat around the fire and we had conversations and we laughed and that became every month, Friday and Saturday night became this woman's, like small retreat in a sense. A wellness retreat, yeah. But and people, I remember them saying to me, I can't believe you let us stay and hang out with you guys. And I'm like, well, why wouldn't we? But many people said that to me and they were shocked that and not only would we let them hang out, we had a ball and we have lots of food and lots of good conversations. When everything, when the energy's good and everything's building, you have that like synchronistic connection. So many things are amazing and feel amazing and are exciting and you just feel this like high high.

It was crazy. Even when you left and you guys were driving home, I was like, I gotta go for a walk. I put my headphones on. I was walking down the street and I, I'm not kidding. It felt like I was walking through white energy. I didn't feel like my feet were touching the ground. I knew something big had just happened. I didn't understand completely all of it, but it was massive. And I was, I know I was walking with this perma smile on my face. Like it just felt like a little bit of an idiot in the moment because I was like walking just feeling light as air felt like I was in like this white, I was floating. No, and you said that you felt the same way driving home. It just floated all the way home.

Yeah, it's true. So we knew there was something to this. We just didn't at the time know exactly what it was, but I mean, when the universe makes everything that good, you're not gonna not explore it again. So that's the thing about following your path and being on your path, being in your desire, being in your passion, it's addictive. It just is. We're creating a better world within ourselves as well, which extends out into the world as, you know, other people. You know, it's the same thing with my clients. When you work on them, I hear your clients say it. It's like you make them feel so good that they just want to follow you around, you know? Yeah. Well, I have had people say like, can you just come to my house and like, like stay with me for three days and do like intensive coaching?

And I don't know. I don't think so. I don't think so. Maybe a retreat. I think that's hard. Later on. But you know, these are all the ups and downs here, right? But I feel like we become these magnets for feeling energy and it works in our favor sometimes and it works against us sometimes. So when it works against us, there's some crazy planetary alignments, you know? Oh dear God. Even the barometric pressure when it ships, I feel it. Or it's like the, you know, solar flares or, you know, human resonance, like the geomagnetic storms, like there's all these things that affect you. And I remember when we went to Winnipeg to visit a friend and we decided, I told my friend, I was like, I hear like the museum of civilization is really cool.

Like I'd really like to see it. So she took us, she took me and Kim to the museum. And it was a crazy experience for so many reasons. Oh boy. That was it. I don't even know if I can remember step one, step two, step three, but we were walking through that area that had all the reenactment. Well, it had like a whole setup that was it was like an indigenous settlement. So they had the actual models of the animals and the people. And the river going through and washing their clothes, and the river and things hanging. And oh my gosh, I, I walked through there and it was like I went through a time warp where I was there. And I've always loved that.

I know I have native blood and I've always been so respectful that I feel so honored. And I do live very much, you know, by the earth and stuff, but that experience, it took me right back in time to a time when I was there. And it was, I don't even know, you were watching me and I was like in a different. Yeah, you just, your energy just wasn't really like present. Like you went into that time. And so I know we had to stop. I remember stopping and cause you, you had to sit down. You were like. Well, at first I couldn't remember that I was even standing to be honest. You know, you're in it, you're watching it. It was like I was walking through that area and then I could feel something hit me energetically and it took me back and I was in that time and we were washing clothes and we were hanging them and people like little kids were running around and the dogs were running around and it was like real life.

I was right there and it was quite profound for me. And then when we come out of that, even when we went into the other room with the teepee, I was in there meditating and I got, I went again. Yeah. She just, it was like her energy just like left her body and was somewhere else. And even, you know, when you're talking to somebody and you can tell in their eyes are not really there. Like she was, it triggered something, it triggered another life, another experience. And me and Sherry were quite aware that you were having a very deep soulful experience that what we saw in the museum, the artifacts they had there, like there was some very traditional like historic artifacts. And but there was also like what we walked through the whole area where they had it set up as if we were outside.

Like there was literally mountains, trees, animals, a stream, a bridge. There was like- Well, even their clothing was like hide with like a drawstring around them. Yeah. They had all the authentic clothing and the animal hides hanging and everything. So it was like you're walking through the forest. Like it really, and so Kim had this very like visceral experience. She just looked like she, she took it on. And so we were very, I remember Sherry was like, you know, should we like help her? Like, is she gonna fall down? Like I don't know, it was poor Sherry. So like she's so sensitive and she could feel Kim just like wobbly on her feet and everything. But you know, it was really good because- I loved it. Well, yeah. Like Kim, listen, you love everything.

Somebody else would have that experience and be so thrown off. And Kim was like, let's go again. It was like, it was like a roller coaster or something. But yeah, like I know what happened. I could tell she was taken back to another life, to another time. And then sitting in the TP meditating was another experience in a different, like even a different part of the museum, I think that was in, but- But I got messages too. So that was, that was another thing that was so profound was that where I was within my own journey at that time, they were speaking to me and giving me little pointers to help me. Well, that's it. If you're listening, if you are listening and willing, there is help for you around every corner. Like we just thought we were going to a museum. We didn't think we're gonna get like, you know, life lessons here or like guided messages from spirit in the museum, but that's exactly what happened.

And it was really amazing. And that kind of thing like can happen different places you go, like you May yourself have found like you traveled to another place and had, you know, a very triggered kind of vision or a triggered past life experience or you might have gone somewhere and gone, wow, I just feel like I belong here. You know, there's something to this. So those things are part of your awareness. If you weren't, if you were fighting awareness, if you were blocking awareness, you would never have those deep, deep experiences. And that's why it's so worthwhile. But we do know that when we get thrown off by energy that doesn't match us, we have to, as Kim was saying, we have to ground, you know, we have to get out in nature.

We have to get back to something very simple, basic truth because nature is, it's so, it's- Well, it's so natural too, right? But it's the easiest way. Like it's the easiest way I feel like to get back to your center, it takes away all the noise, you know? I was helping my son with a project last night and it was about poetry. And I wish I could remember the name of the poem, but basically the idea was, it was about war time and the poet was finding peace in the chaotic wildness of nature. And I just thought, that's so cool because think about how chaotic and terrible war is, but humans are supposed to be evolved, you know? We're supposed to be like, we're supposed to have everything figured out everything's supposed to be better.

But, and we think of animals as like primitive and, you know, wild and that wildness was actually very calming and soothing for this person. And that's the thing, when nothing makes sense, you have to get yourself back into nature. You have to ground, like we go to the beach. That's a natural thing we do. We need to go, we need to be by water. The beach is also cleansing. So you can feel like you can leave things there. I used to teach, Kim helped me teach a kids class. And one of the things we did was we would take them to the beach and we teach them that when you're struggling with something, you can give it to the water and the ocean will take it, ground it and cleanse it.

And even if you want the energy, you know, all adjusted and cleansed, if you want it back, the ocean will still give it back to you. So we, I taught them with the rhythm of the waves, you know, when the wave is going out, give your energy that you don't want to hang on to anymore that's bothering you, give it to the water, allow the water to take it out, recycle it, cleanse it. And when the wave comes back in, you can ask for it back if you want it back in a better form. And I think that's so amazing to think about how nature has a natural purification of energy. It's the same with the rain. I always said, I love the wind. I love the rain of the, you know, it's like the winds of change and the rain is cleansing.

It's, it's like a shower. Yeah, like, we just naturally start to make better choices. You know, don't you think that when you try to block awareness, I find that's when people get the illus like they get like physically, because I know I'm I feel better all the time. The more I move forward and the more I do the things that I should do. And I know the things that I should even do more of that would be even better again, right? Well, there is a theory that sensitivities are actually quite protective and actually create a healthy energy or healthy environment for the body. Because if you're sensitive, you're usually sensitive to the things that are no good for you anyway. Yeah, like me, I can't wear hairspray or any kind of perfume or anything. And that's why I make all natural products so that I can at least smell good for, you know, for some of the time anyway.

And not that I don't smell good. It's just that, you know, people wear perfume and stuff to smell good. And you, you, you smell just wonderfully. You don't have to worry about that. But, you know, here's the thing. I'm just a glowing smelly. Yeah, she's just a happy, beautiful smelling person. No, but I do see us brainwash. I do see us now making healthier choices because it just constantly, it just feels better. If I don't drink two liters of water a day, I physically feel tired. My eyeballs feel like they're dry. I just don't feel good. If I eat too much sugar, it's like, blah, I don't feel good. Like I thanked you today because Kim said, what would you do without me?

And I said, well, I'd probably be a dried up, shriveled up prune. And I'd be an unhappy prune because she's the one that reminds me to drink water all the time. So, you know. I don't think I'm the easiest person, though, because I feel like if you're going to be in my life, you better be prepared because I'm not slowing down. I'm not going to apologize for being myself because I love who I am. And I love myself more than I ever have, and I hope to keep loving myself more. And I think that's part of what awareness gives you, is the more awareness you have, it's like you really, it's like you go internally inside and you go, oh, wow, I don't like that. Oh, I don't like it when people treat each other like that.

I don't like it when, because you see disrespect, you see dysfunction, you see, you feel it, you see it, you sense, it's like this knowing and you can't unknow it, right? Yeah. And a lot of people, that's why they have such a hard time with awareness and this whole awakening, is that they don't want to change. It's awkward, it's hard, it's, you know, and truthfully, the truth is, we're never meant to stay the same, we're constantly growing and evolving, and we're meant to, that's what we're here for. That's what I was going to say, like if you don't like change, I feel sorry for you, because that is all we got is change. And I'm so glad I'm with you because I'm not a sad, shriveled up prune. It's wonderful. Well, I'm so glad you're with me because, you know.

And I do find with this, like I know myself, like the, the awareness creates this situation, this environment where you're continually faced with who you are and what you like and what you need or what you want. And so it just keeps creating more clarity. So you, you know yourself on such a deep, deep level that you wouldn't, I would never give back, never give back this experience. And you love yourself on such a deep, deep level. Well, and you feel things like, you know, different people in our life that are more nervous or more, you know, have, you feel it from them. So sometimes you'll walk into a room and go, geez, why do I feel like this? You know. And it's, it's because you're picking up on somebody else's energy.

And it happens to you and I every single day. Oh my God, all the time. But you know, that's the thing. Like don't, wouldn't you rather be in a place of belief and trust and. Well, you can do something about what you're feeling too. And no too, like you don't, if you don't have control, it releases that responsibility of feeling like you have to do, you know, everything the exact right way all the time. You know, there's many. What if everything is always right? Just, well, that's it. Like you can't miss, you can't mess a shit up. Okay. I'm just saying. You, even mistakes you make, they're there so that you learn from them and everybody's going to make mistakes. Like everybody, everybody's going to have failure. I think it's important to have, to like have mistakes and failure because that's the, for me, that's how I grow. That's how I learn.

Listen, you're going to have a thousand failures for every success. That's just how we learn. That's how this experience is built. And I just think what happened within me and see Kim, the funny thing is when you become an expert, you forget what it's like to be a beginner. So Kim has like been open for so long. We talk about this and I say, what this did for me was it really helped me release personal responsibility for feeling like I could never make a mistake, you know, or I couldn't, I couldn't, I had to like analyze everything to death to make sure I was doing things right. When spirit is there saying, no, like if you have a desire, go towards the desire, you're not always going to be okay. You're not always going to do things right, but you're going to learn and you're going to change your behavior.

You're going to learn from it and you're going to redirect and that's okay. And awareness can show you through awareness. Awareness is kind of like the key because awareness shows you where you should be all the time. Well, and that's, that's one of the reasons why I love what we do because even dealing with grandchildren and they're, you know, one of my little granddaughters, she's, she's four and a half and she is just an incredible human being. But she's so hard on herself and I'm constantly trying to go, whoa, wait a second. Like you try so hard and you do things so well and you're just such a loving, caring person. I don't want you to be hard on yourself about just the learning because the learning so valuable, but it's like what, you know, how does a kid come into this world and they already are so hard on themselves?

But I understand what that's like because I've always expected perfection from myself. But I got to a place where I just was comfortable with how I was doing things and what I was doing and who I was. So that kind of fell away and, you know, we're, we're all products of our environment. So you are what your environment teaches you. And until you decide to shift into a new awareness in a new environment, because, you know, really, we've created a completely new environment for ourselves. And we're, our life is so much easier on a lot of levels. Like it's not, it's not easier in the sense that we're very busy. We have to travel back and forth.

You know, I mean, for a lot of people going to New Brunswick, you know, it's almost a five hour drive back and forth. And we do that. It's fine. Yeah, it's fine. Don't worry about it. You know, and load the car up and we've got all the lights. Okay. You know, and you're staying here and you're staying there. But we, I think that when you choose big, you get big. Yeah. And when big things are happening, every single time, something big is happening, big things happen around it. Yeah. Refer back to our podcast about obstacles. That's exactly where we are right now. We're in, we're facing, Kim and I are facing obstacles all the time, trying to just continue to do the things that we really love and we committed to do.

But while being faced with a ton of life, like our washer leaking and all over the place and flooding the laundry room. Yesterday, yeah. It was crazy. But here's the thing. I do feel like awareness is so important if you can commit and understand that you are part of something bigger. And this is not just up to you. You don't have to feel like you have to control everything and you have to make it right. And awareness is the gift that shows you that you can surrender. You can trust and it's going to be okay. You're always the one putting the cherry on top. I love that about you. It's so true. It's just it is such a beautiful gift. And I think I feel so grateful to be who I am in this life learning the things that I've chosen to be okay with and no matter how hard I'm always going to keep taking the high road.

But I love that we can extend that to our children and our grandchildren. I know last night I was talking to my grandsons because their sisters are here with us and they we were talking about different things. And then my grandson said, you know, Nan, because I said to my one of my grandsons he wants to be an artist when he grows up. So I said, you know, I have a friend a client friend of mine that's an artist and one day I'm going to bring you into her studio. Would you like that? And he said, yeah. And then my other grandson said, Nan, I really want to meet a pirate. And he's always had this thing about pirates. And then he said, you know, Nan, I think in the past life I was probably a pirate, you know. And then his dad said, pirate. He said, well, pirates weren't very good people.

And he goes, well, dad, maybe I wasn't very good in that life. And I said, you know, honey, I said, we come here to have this experience. And I said, in some lives, we weren't very nice. And in some lives, we were great. But that's what this is all about that statement makes me so happy because I think because I chose this path, I can also open the door for my grandchildren and my children to have a better, in my mind, a better life because they can have more awareness. They can have more openness, which brings more to me, it brings more love, more light, more expansion. And I'm just so grateful for that. Oh, true. So awareness is absolutely a gift.

And it's the gift that keeps expanding. But you know what? It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but it's my cup of tea. Amen, sister. All right. We'll see you all next week.
