Hello, I'm Kimberly. And I'm Laura. And today we're talking about lessons from the afterlife. Yeah, we're coming to you from the beautiful Quispam, says, New Brunswick. So this thing happened to me the other day. Actually, Sunday night, I had an allergic reaction where I was staying and then it, in my mind, set me into this panic attack of I can't breathe, my heart's pounding, blah, blah, blah, which set my wife into, listen, you're going to the hospital, right? And I kept trying to put it off, put it off, because there's a part of me that thinks, I think on some level, because of the way I think about how I'm connected to the universe. I don't really worry about a lot, which can get me in trouble sometimes.

And I think that, and I periodically say, you know, I feel like I'm a little bit of a Wonder Woman, but I do know I'm human. So anyway, Sunday night, you know, we're driving and I had to get out and I was thinking, oh, well, we'll just go to my son's house and I'll stay there and, you know, I'll figure out how I feel in the morning. But my wife was like, listen, we're going to the hospital, you can't breathe very well, there's something wrong, we don't know what exactly is wrong, so, you know, humor me. Yeah, yeah. So we go to the hospital, they can't get any of my, they can't get my blood pressure, they can't get, they're doing my sugars.

And I haven't had anything in 20 years other than my back since I get into this work. So, you know, they can't take my heart rate, nothing's coming through, not even my body temperature, which was kind of ironic to me. Well, all your vitals, like the machines wouldn't work because you, yeah, because your heart rate. So I was in AFib, which was a shock to me because, you know, I'm a pretty healthy person. So this experience was not very fun for me or my wife. So I'm in the hospital, I'm in, you know, AFib for four hours and the doctors, there's two doctors talking to me and they rushed us right in, they took us into the trauma ward and, you know, blah, blah, blah. So anyway, the doctors basically saying, listen, your pulse is 185.

And I was thinking, well, I feel way better than I felt an hour ago, so, you know, I didn't know how serious it was. So anyway, they said, we have to either paddle you or give you this medication. So I'm looking at my wife thinking, meh, probably medication to be a little easier on her. I didn't really think it'd be so fun for her to watch them paddle me like that. So anyway, they left the room and in a moment of, you know, because I'm somebody who I believe I can heal myself. I've always believed that. And when I have any kind of pain, I identify with the pain and I let the pain teach me what the hell I need to learn in that moment. So this wasn't exactly happening in the way I was hoping it would. So, but when I got to that moment where I was pissed off, I just lost my mom about a year and a half ago.

So I had this flash of my whole family in black and how distraught. And I even had flashes of my grandchildren older and not being good. So it just showed me the representation of how the loss of me would affect my family. Right. So then I fast forward to going, I literally, and this is all happening in my head, obviously, in moments. And then I thought, mom, and I was mad. Like I was literally like super mad going, mom, you better help me. I'm not ready to see you yet, you know? So I started raking myself and meditating and calming myself and my wife was saying to me beside me, she didn't know what I was doing.

She just knew I was- Oh, well, I knew you were raking yourself like in Tal, yeah. Yeah. But I was being very quiet and my head felt like it was gonna blow off. My heart was pumping. So, you know, and I had this weight on my chest and this pain in my, my chest bone that I could not even, like it was just crazy. So basically what happened was my wife was saying, I don't know what you're like, whatever you're doing is working because it went from 185, 170 something, 160, blah, blah, blah, kept going down until the point where it was regular being. Yeah, it was back to normal. Back to normal. And, you know, we had just lost somebody that was more of a friend of yours. I knew her, but I could feel her. And so it really was pretty profound for me, this whole experience.

And I wanted to share it today because here's the thing about these things that happened to us is we are programmed to think the worst always. It's just this constant thing that, you know, when something happens, it doesn't matter how big or small, we're constantly in this state of it's like, you know, what, like this must be terrible and oh my God, my heart must be bad and what's the lesson and all that. And I'll tell you what my experience about this is and what I think. I am somebody who believes in the unbelievable. I have faith beyond faith. And I probably do not give myself enough. I need to balance my life out. I was in fight or flight for a long time in my life.

So I know what that feels like. And I wasn't exactly there, but I have been finally getting to a place. Laura and I have been together for over 10 years and there's been a lot of hard, a lot of hard, hard things we had to do to be together. We travel back and forth from one province to the other where I have to make the bulk of my money here and I have to do it in the framework of like a week. So it's a lot of pressure sometimes, but I don't let that get to me. So we're finally getting to a place in life where we're doing a lot better. But you're still in that old energy of, I have to, I have to, I have to. And I'll be honest, sometimes I work from nine till nine. But the thing is that even when I'm home, I have this love of physical work.

I can't help myself, I just love it. I have big energy. There's lots of things I love to do. I love to build things. I love to plant. I love to fix. I love to create new life. It's just the biggest part of who I am. However, I still need the awareness that I'm human. Yeah, so we titled today's episode, Lessons from the Afterlife because this is, these are events that happen to us while we're alive to kind of check us in to what's important. So they give us, it's like a, it's a trigger for a new experience. It's a trigger for a new awareness. And they give us this picture, this image of, you know, like in your case, like what would life be without me here for my loved ones?

And then what do I need to do to kind of like bring myself back to where I want to be. And just to, you know, just because I'm the person, I want to clear stuff up a bit. But the, you being an AFib does not mean there's nothing you did to cause that. Of course. And so there's kind of like this weird thing happening, like we talked about the allergic reaction and stuff. And we kind of said, well, it's kind of like, is it the chicken? Did the chicken come first or the egg? You know, it's kind of that thing. Like we don't really know how it's all connected or if it is. But we definitely had experiences like Perfect Storm, which Kim and I both know. It's usually these things lead to a spiritual shift.

So we were talking about what this means because it's like giving yourself a picture of the future or the future without you in it. And then what does that look like for you? So we were like, well, let's talk about, you know, all the lessons that come from the afterlife when spirit crosses over. And I feel like we live our lives in a way that we already know these things. So we respect those lessons and we live trying to be in the best energy for our soul path. But it's easy to get caught up in other things. Like it's easy to get caught up in like, well, I just really want this room and my host to look so nice and work so hard on it that you ignore other things or other people.

Or maybe you're working on a project at work or something and you're putting all this effort into it but ignoring what's important in your life at the same time. So we all get caught up in those things, we're human. But the idea is to understand that a lot of the things that we think are important when we're alive have no significance in the afterlife at all. So that's kind of where we're coming from today. But I also know too that we taught Reiki all weekend. Yeah, which heightens. Heightens the energy, heightens sensitivity, puts you in a place where you could have a spiritual shift and we just finished talking to all the students about all the things that can happen to you after you take Reiki, whether they be spiritual, mental, emotional or physical.

And then the Reiki teacher, the Reiki master has a physical spiritual shift. And the irony of that is I kept telling Laura, probably six months ago, I said something's coming and it's gonna look like I'm really sick. It's gonna look really bad. No, that's what I said. I said it's gonna look really bad at first but it's not gonna be a big deal so I want you to not worry about this. So I knew something was coming. I even was so close to say a week ago that I said I don't know why but when we come back the strip, big things are shifting, big things are changing. And one thing I noticed is that my gifts have heightened. I can feel the difference. So I could automatically feel that but I'm still trying to, you know, one thing about me is I really sometimes don't give things enough attention because I've always been so good and I've always been able, I Reiki myself every morning and night and I meditate every day.

So for me, I'm very, you know, I would say highly aware within my body and my body, the funny thing is, you know, we take this negative energy because people have, you know, made fun of me quite a bit in my life and said, oh, you should live in a bubble and blah, blah, blah, because I'm allergic to so much but my beautiful wife has helped me so much by saying things like, no, your body is this very intelligent and it knows that it shouldn't use tide detergent, you know, on its clothes and stuff and we're learning more and more in life about how these things are so poison to our body but we don't think enough about them. Well, I've had to all my life because my body really doesn't like any scent unless it's natural and Laura even has become more sensitive being with me because now you're away from all those things.

Yeah, you get healthier and your body then will send you the signals when you're around something that's not good for you and we have, you know, we've really cleaned anything that has like any chemicals that have scents and things that it's mostly I find what bothers me is mostly the fragrance so that chemical fragrance that's in things, I can't handle it. Yeah, fake smells, you know, and your body, our bodies are so intelligent and you think of some of the things we've healed from in life and we know loads of people in this work and lots of people have had profound like really like hard diseases and illnesses that have almost taken them out and they've come back from it and they all say, you know, like when you get to that place you are more sensitive because you're more aware, the more aware you are the more you're ready, you understand your body so you know what things work well and what don't like if I don't drink enough water, I know right away I feel dehydrated, I feel sluggish, I feel head fog and if I don't walk, same thing I feel lethargic, I feel heavy like everything's not moving but think about the mechanics of our body

If you know your legs are pumps if we don't move, we get stagnant so these things are not like this isn't like new information but the thing is, is that we're all living life going 150 miles an hour not paying attention to the things that really matter and I don't know about, you know my listeners out there but I know that my wife and I we love being here on this earth this is a beautiful world and there's lots of beauty in it and I'm not afraid to die I know how beautiful it is however I love the life I'm living and I wanna do whatever I can to stay here as long as I can as well as I can in that time Right and that's the thing from the other side cause I'm talking to spirit all the time and I have realized over the years that hearing what they have to say has changed my behavior it's changed the way I think about things and you and I, we do live life in a way that we want to experience we want to learn, we want to grow we want to expand but we are very focused on the people we love Absolutely and there's nothing that is so important

That you have to take to your to the afterlife, to your grave there's just nothing and that's the thing I have spirit come through all the time with very profound messages for their loved ones because they have realized they have gone to the other side and now they have perspective they can see why everyone in their life May have behaved the way they did May have said things they did they have understanding and compassion and they have that wisdom of knowing what is really important and it's not gonna be important you know how, what kind of car you drove or how big your house was or how shiny it was Right, it's not gonna be important you know, the clothes that you wore or anything or the money that you made none of that stuff is gonna matter and in fact, it's really humbling to think about this when you are gone you know, your family remembers you you know, your grandkids remember you but that's kind of as far as it goes really People forget who you are no matter how much they love you I mean, it's just the way life is Life keeps moving, time marches on and so is it important that you, you know

That you look so nice for that event that, you know, that family event and you know, I mean, maybe it is if you just wanna feel good but it's not if you're doing it in a way that you want people to notice you and remember you because that's just not gonna happen or working yourself to death to buy a $1,000 outfit when you could have bought a $200 one and been less stressed and still enjoyed yourself just as much I think that's the biggest lesson you know, the first stage in my life I was, you know, I had a beautiful home I had two brand new homes we built and the second one was kind of like my dream house at the time and I kept working towards you know, all the things in life I thought would make me happy and would fill that space, you know and I grew up poor, which I'm so grateful for because it gave me perspective, right?

And I think the more experiences we have in life the more perspective we have but one thing I learned was that it was ironic to me when we were looking for a house and we were getting kicked out of our home I didn't care, you know we bought a beautiful split entry which is not a house like the style of the house that I thought I would ever want but it's the way it's set up it has every single thing we needed and it checked off all the boxes and I wanted a sweat equity home because I didn't want to have that worry of that big mortgage and I knew that I could do the work myself so many things changed because in my first part of my life with my ex I was looking for all these things to fill me and it never did and it's like there's this part of you that thinks that's like that's the holy grail you get to that place where you have a beautiful home you feel like your life's beautiful but if you don't do the internal work none of that matters so the beauty of the relationship I'm in now is that I really know that I could live in a little shack in the woods which kind of, Laura goes okay but wait a minute I don't want to live in a shack and I'm like I don't want to live in a shack but you know

I don't mean a shack then you know but what I mean is I don't need the same as things that I used to need and now we have a beautiful home which I think is ironic because you know we have all these beautiful things but it's more about the beauty of the birds in the yard and the environment and how the house and the property feels like it's full of light and that's what makes me happy and the fact that we don't have to stress ourselves out about paying for these things like think about that's it so we have gotten a lot of the things that we wanted and we have what we need and it's very nice but it's not over the top you know and we're not working or it gets out to support it so that's something to think about you know and we kind of we can use the analogy of buying a car you know are you going to you know work like crazy and buy an $80,000 car or are you going to buy the $20,000 car and have more time to yourself because really it's the time and the space that you have for your life and with your loved ones that matters the time and that's what you can't get back time

You can't get it back the time is the most important thing and when people come through from the other side it's like all the stuff like that we worry about like people's wills and you know like division of property and like oh this person's mad at that person and this person said that about this person and all of that stuff is gone irrelevant what do spirits say when they come in to talk to loved ones they say I love you I'm proud of you I'm sorry please forgive me there's no there's no nothing else that matters to them and the energy that is created by sort of fixing or solving that issue if you've been if there's resentment between you and a loved one and then the loved one passes away and the resentment is still there what it looks like to me is that it can't be solved in the afterlife that has to be solved in the human experience that has to be solved in the physical and so your loved one and spirit is still so drawn and connected to you because they want to help you and they want to help you heal and they also want to heal that energy so that it doesn't go forward

Into the next generation in the next and the next so they come and sometimes we say that people book readings I think it's for them but it's actually for their loved one on the other side or it's for the actual connection to heal the wound and those wounds can't be healed on the other side completely they have to be healed in the physical first that energy stays here it's like I look at it like it's like glop it's like it's like slime I like that, yeah and it's on you when you're alive and you're here and then when you cross over you leave all that glop behind but where does it go? It just sticks to the next person it goes through the generations, right? So that's our generational trauma and our ancestral trauma we need to work we need to look at what heals that like so for instance my family in the ancestral lineage there's a lot of poverty there's a poverty mentality so how do I heal the poverty mentality?

I start to see my worth that's really what happened as I started to see my worth and how I fit in this world and what it's not what I need exactly or it's not what I want it's what puts me in the best feeling energy to go forward so am I a person that is gonna buy broken down things and have dirty and yucky things in my house? No I'm not that person I will buy something that is quality because it's the energy of it it's the energy of abundance and success and it's buy at once but that's what I was gonna say do I buy 20 of those things? No I do not so there's a balance here there's a balance of feeling like you can enjoy this life and you can be abundant but abundance means so many things it's not stuff and it's not money abundance is having the people around you that you love and being able to have experiences with them and create together like co-create beautiful things and that's the thing the things that we hold against people

I've had, I can't even tell you and like I wouldn't get into individual stories just because it's private but I can't tell you how many people how many souls have come forward to say to their kids, to their loved ones I'm sorry I didn't mean to do that to you I didn't know what I was doing or I thought I was doing the right thing at the time especially like high expectations judgment, feeling like the people that are stuck in victim mentality and blaming other people for things all these things drop away on the other side they don't matter so I have this thing where I'll ask people when they're really struggling with a decision and they don't know what to do I always say, think about yourself just take a minute to picture what it would be like you're 87, okay, you're at home you're sitting, maybe you're sitting in your favorite chair maybe you're super comfortable but I want you to ask put yourself in that 87 year old body and then ask yourself if you don't do this thing, will you regret it?

And if it's that important to you that you will regret it when you're sitting in your rocking chair with your blanket on you and you're 87 then you need to do it now don't waste time do the things on your list that you always wanted to do and don't wait because sometimes we wait too long and then you can't do it do you see 87 year olds out there rock climbing or something maybe and sailing and you know yeah, there's a few for sure but I'm trying to say if there's somebody in your life that you've been nervous about talking to you nervous about telling them how you feel if there's a job that you want a job that you don't want if there's a place you want to move if there's some place you want to travel you can't wait until everything is perfect sometimes you have to move forward you know and I'm a client of mine yesterday he was in to telling stories and using parables and things and he said I'm going to tell you the story about the guy in the lottery ticket and I said, okay and he said yeah, there's this guy and he prays every day to win the lottery and he goes to church and he prays to God and he gets up in the morning and he asks God to win the lottery and then he goes to bed at night and he asks God to win the lottery

The lottery would fix all my problems God, I know you're going to help me well, he lives his whole life he dies he gets in front of God and he says where's the lottery? I didn't, I asked you I asked you to help me win the lottery and God said you didn't buy a ticket which is so true in life, right? Like we wait we waste so much time and for me the way Laura and I talk to our clients is mostly the same just it's done a little differently and I have client after client that I see this insecurity I see this need to feed all these things that society thinks we should have the bigger car, the bigger house to run and our kids rag it and doing all this stuff and believe me, I did it I did run my kids around and stuff but it taught me and I'm so grateful that I got to come out the other side of it in this life and I learned the things that aren't important and there's nothing I love more than family Laura and I are right on the same page with that we both love family we love cooking, we love food we love gathering however, sometimes we're the people that we don't exactly get the break we have to make ourselves take the break because we would go and go and go till we fall over

Which is something we've been learning about ourselves lately and so sometimes we can't always do it it's, you know, we do have to say no and I notice clients all the time where, you know the biggest thing we don't do is unpack the crap that is making us feel whatever way we're feeling that we think that that is the end goal and that's the thing that's gonna make us happy because, you know one thing I will never give away again is the time that I have with my wife every day we have built our life around how we wanna live so, you know, having tea or coffee in the morning together or our afternoon breaks or our morning walks or evening walks or it's the time that we spend or taking a day to go to the beach and that's our office and, you know, we're getting busier and busier and the thing I'll say to Laura is listen, we've worked really hard to get here and we have everything we need and we don't want to sacrifice our time away from each other anymore we've had to a lot because, you know, I have to go home to New Brunswick she has her children, you know, week on week off so sometimes I go when she has them so that that gives us a little more time together because we have a lot, you know

We have a lot going on all the time and when I'm here sometimes I'm working from nine o'clock in the morning till nine o'clock at night with maybe a lunch break, you know so, you know, what the incident that just happened to me did for me was just make me sit and stop and reflect and have a new perspective than what I had before so it might be, okay well, I'm not working till nine o'clock anymore because it makes me too tired and that overstresses my body so maybe from now on I'm done working at seven, you know so it's these little things and maybe, you know, I'm gonna make sure I drink lots of water make sure that I get my walk in every day make sure I do the things that I need to do which I typically do anyway but I would just be more apt to say no if we don't do the things we need to do for ourselves you know, we find ourselves getting into that place where we're resentful where we're angry, we're frustrated and I gotta tell you, I'm not in that place hardly ever so when I am, it really affects me to the point where I go, wow you know, I haven't felt that way in so long and thank you universe for giving me this sign or this event that happened that showed me that

You know, it's about critiquing things it's not about making these big life changes but you know, you're never gonna do this or that and you know, I think it's kind of overkill anyway but you know, there's sometimes things that happen to us that they're just a little reflection that can give us that perspective to say, hey, listen if you do this little thing you're gonna get this much more valuable time right and you know what I think too is think about yourself without a body right, okay we don't have no need for anything physical because that's what happens to spirit they get to the other side and all they have is their consciousness you know, the energy that they created in their life the love that they have and their consciousness so if you really bring it down to that and you simplify it there is nothing material that's more important than your soul evolvement growth and your connections to other souls, nothing so doesn't that remove a lot of fear?

Like doesn't that, because why don't we do the things that we wanna do with our life? It's usually because of some type of fear so we have fear of abandonment, fear of rejection we have fear of financial stress we have fear that somehow like danger like we're gonna get hurt or something so all of these fears stop us from living stop us from doing the things that we need to do but this physical construct, this reality that we're in it's not the reality where you anybody can stay you know, everybody's physical body eventually it goes back to the earth and then what happens to your consciousness it continues on so doesn't it make more sense to honor your sacred energy your sacred life force honor that, honor who you are and invest in that and don't worry about all this temporary stuff that you're gonna leave behind it's gonna disintegrate people are gonna forget who you were in the first place like somebody else gonna be living in your big mansion it's only gonna take 150 years or so people are gonna forget about who you were it doesn't matter what you've done unless you're like a big figure like George Washington or something nobody's gonna remember you and so do the things that you need to do for yourself

Do the things that fill up your energy that make you feel full and happy and content and peaceful and blissful and have adventures you know, go there and discover things meet new people you're saying all this and all I can think about is my grandchildren and how grateful I am that we've done so much to create memories with them and the funniest thing is they have lots of people in their life that buy them things and you know food and junk and all that stuff and I'm one of these old kind of school I'm a little bit stricter I wanna make memories with them so I wanna take them to the beach and yes, we might have pizza after but it's not that the junk is not the means that I'm showing them how I love them I'm showing them how I love them through spending time with them and taking time off so that they're 100% my focus and that we have adventures together and the cool thing is that all four of our grandchildren as soon as they see Laura and I they're like, ooh, we're going to the beach we're gonna go feed the chickadees we're gonna go for a hike we're like, ooh, what do we do in the summer when we're going to Nanny and Weeba's house and it's the adventure it's the what they don't know

Or what they didn't experience yet and then when they experience it it creates a stronger connection to the fact that they know and now they say my granddaughter's five we just had both of the granddaughters last week for the week and it was a three and five-year-old and the five-year-old looked at me in the car and she said, Nan, we're building memories, right? Because I would constantly say I'm not buying you that, no, you had enough junk there's a limit to how much I want you to have love is not shown through food it's not, it doesn't mean I love you if I buy you a bunch of junk and take you to McDonald's every day or whatever the case May be or if I buy you a toy at every store we go in I said, that is not love I said, love for me is giving you the time it's showing you the things you need to learn it's creating adventure and making you dream and know how to dream and know what life is about see your potential what's possible yeah, yeah we, Kim and I because we know what it's like to not be seen we really take time with our kids and with your grandkids to make sure they know that we see them that we see what they're going through we see what they might need

And they know that we're always there for them well, we're paying attention and not everybody has that that skill developed yet I'll say yeah, like I can I feel like because I am who I am now there's been a lot of things in my life that I've gone through and I don't believe that we should allow toxic people into our lives just because we're trying to be like good soul or whatever like I do believe there's a limit you have to have good boundaries but I also don't hold grudges against people and the reason for that and I work very hard because if I've had anger and the anger has been around for a while I do work really hard on that because I don't feel like I feel like I can forgive somebody and I can let go of everything but if their behavior hasn't changed I don't have to let them back in my life but I also am not holding onto any energy and I can forgive them too and just say I forgive you for everything and I can send unconditional love on the soul level from universal love but I don't feel like we don't have to just because we're talking about the afterlife and all that it doesn't mean that you have to carry anything with you

If you can't solve a problem or fix a relationship before you pass it doesn't mean that you've done something wrong but what you can do is put yourself in a good place you can let go you can release all your feelings associated with that absolutely so well I think that was a good topic for today and it was so funny because I know people are so like they don't want to admit these things and they certainly don't want to admit them publicly but I looked at my wife and said I want to talk about what just happened to me because true vulnerability and transparency it's like I'm somebody who I live a very healthy life I eat healthy I do all these things but some places in my life I still need to critique I need to maybe slow down a little bit maybe go read a book instead of working from morning till night but because I love it so much it's easy for me to do so these things can happen to us it doesn't mean it's the end of the world I'm not afraid that I'm not going to stop being me but I might critique my I might say well maybe I'm not going to drink coffee anymore because that's not something good for AFib but you can make adjustments

Yeah but we're making minor adjustments because this is so worth it we value our life we value our path we value our sacred path and because we do we want to be here and enjoying it for as long as possible so these things happen these sign signals even when people pass like my friend passing at a young age watching and seeing that is a reminder to me to all of us that life is really short and it's precious and it's precious and do the things that do the things that you're afraid to do like challenge yourself be courageous be brave because I'm telling you you will thank yourself on the other side for living your life with no restrictions no holding yourself back from the things that you want absolutely we'll talk to you next week if you're interested in contacting Kim for Soul Awakening Coaching please contact her at mksoulcoaching.com if you'd like to check out my website and everything that I do please go to laurawarrenmedium.com
